Has Anyone seen
any indisputable evidence that he actually spit? And was the ref in a good position to see something the camera's didn't capture?

did anyone listen to the junkies this morning...they had this fool on there who said that brian dawkins was one of the cleanest players in the league and that he would never do anything like that...what is this guy talking about?! dawkins has been fined multiple times for hitting helmet to helmet, and although he's never been caught for spitting on anyone, im sure he has, just like any nfl player. what goes on on that field is unknown to all of us, and im sure if one person does it there might as well be a bunch more, there can't be just one anomaly, not in a sport like football.
that having been said, im glad that he only got 17k instead of more and a suspension, or just a suspension. i wouldnt be surprised if gregg williams turns this guy loose to just wreak havoc and play his game. i think all of us here, regardless of whether we like the guy or not, would love to see him blow someone up and make them bring back "JACKED UP" for the playoffs. i know i would.

Sean, may you always rest in peace and look down on us with the same love that we look up to you.
Hail to the Redskins!

and still today he didn,t spit on him.i,ve seen this shown a thousand times and still can,t tell if he did or he didn,t spit on him but i know that pittman,s the one who should,ve been ejected on saturday.
i,m just glad he will be there this saturday at seattle.

Did anybody hear the postgame show with B Mitch, he basically said spitting happens all the time, he's even showed the spit on his face to the refs and they didn't do anything about it. Im not condoning it but its not like he spit on a ref! For anyone to believe that the Tarantula doesn't have a bad rap around the league among the officiating crews is ridiculous. Im glad it was just a 17000 fine and as far as Pittman goes, id bet money anyday of the week on Taylor in any sort of street altercation between those two. Maybe we'll see them on celebrity boxing one day.

Im just glad he's playing and that we are the Bully of the East for a change.
It feels much better defending a boneheaded play by one of our own studs than being on the complaining end of the stick.
I hope he continues to play aggressive, right up to the line but don't cross it again. He'd better be careful though or he could turn into the Dennis Rodman, or Rasheed Wallace of the NFL where refs flag him for unneccessary roughness alot just off reputation for things other players would get away with.

And Pittman can sit at home and tell his family and friends what happened!

If they had any/good evidence it would have been a lot more and possible suspension. I think they would have loved to make an example of him - but they (the NFL) do not have any indiputable evidence and they cannot

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

You're not wrong, but what does the justice system, even as it pertains to the NFL have to do with this incident on a football field?
it has to do with fairness. it has to do with making an assumption about a person before you've weighed the facts or looked at the evidence. and it's proof that the nfl is not concerned with such ideals. if you get branded a spitter, you're always a spitter. the nfl will now look at taylor as a spit bomb just waiting to go off at any moment in every game.

Actually, my favorie part of the whole situation is how Micheal Pittman said it would have gotten a lot worse in the streets...
I don't care how big Pittman's fake/juiced up guns are, Sean Taylor would seriously kill Pittman. When Sean Taylor's mad... I'd take him over anyone.

I think that is fitting... had Sean been in the game there wouldn't have been any question about that TB TD, becuase MR.Taylor would have been back there and someone would have been missing their head

You're kind of right about most of this but you're way off about the NFL being concerned or even wanting to be perceived in any way like you're intimating. The NFL is not about anything to do with justice, fairness or ideals. This is the NFL they condone just about anything as long as it makes the "product" marketable. These people basically allow criminals to "work" for them and the violence of the game is an acepted by-product.
This is just how it is.

maybe! But it will be up to the coaches to "harness" that and make sure that if he's going to continue to do it - he does not get caught and harm the team like last week.
We don't want no "do-gooders" back there banging people.

Well leave it to NFL films and their super-slowmo cameras to catch ST’s spit coming out of his mouth. Now from what I saw he didn’t spit in Pittmans face, but it’s really a moot point to me. They also have the audio and the ref was pissed and told the other ref …I’m not going to penalize Pittman for the retaliation..He said he’d done the same thing! Just a childish thing for ST to do…I hate having to explain these things to my 12 year old, who plays ball!! Wilbon is right..how do you fine a guy (Portis) more for a uniform violation than you do for spitting at someone. Also ST told Williams he didn’t spit…so GW won’t be happy??
"Sean Taylor is hands down the best athlete I've ever coached it's not even close" Gregg Williams 2005 Mini-Camp
I said it before, I'll say it again.
I don't think we can rule out the possibility of a second spitter.
Look, it's done with, for now. Joe, for all his love for character guys, knows that he can ill afford to lose ST right now.
I'm sure different punishments were bandied about...and I did read what Wilpon and just about everybody else has to say on the matter, with the comparisions to Marcus Vick and how the "good ones always get away with it".
Whatever, man. Now is not the time to be worrying about this. Believe me, if Joe sits ST and we lose, the same press will be all over him from the other side of the coin.
It's crap.

We've been watching and I've not seen it. I would be shocked if it showed an incident that was on purpose. You sure it wasn't just talking trash and a little came out??
Wait NFL films could see it and the NFL could not, sounds bogus to me.

I just saw it on "Sounds of the Game". Its pretty incriminating. A bunch of spit is clearly seen coming from Taylor's mouth. The ref even said "He almost got me". Like DEHog said, the ref was pissed and very sure of what he saw.
ST's gotta get his act together. Its embarrassing as a fan and could be very detrimental to the team.

Im pretty sure that NFL films have a different set of cameras for a different style of filming. Plus while the broadcast cameras have to be general in their views to capture the whole field the NFL film guys can zoom way in for emotion and drama for when they show this stuff years later. I'm pretty sure they had one of their HD cams zoomed up to show the altercation.
The road to the number 1 pick gaining speed!

I think you're right Chris! The fans will be on him and any questionable hit is going to create a lot of noise and will "affect" the officials.
I think that Williams makes the point that we need him on the field BUT I believe that the hits will stay the same. That is just how Taylor plays the game and the hits will happen - maybe he gets a few calls but I do not think that he can "slow it down" - and IMO he should continue to play that way.
I want him on the field as much as anyone but I also want him laying people out. He and Arrington can and should make people hurt.
