Anyone else want to join me in lowering their expectations?

you guys are so funny .... and so out of touch
we need to change things a lot - what we've been seeing here the past few years is not working

Expectations are right on target!! I think most agreed we’d be 2-2 after the first 4 games with wins against the Cards and Colts…But in true Redskins fashion the Skins lose to a team they should beat, then give us hope by beating a team they shouldn’t! 8-8 seems very attainable!

Still 7-9, except that the rest of the NFC East is crumbling. Maybe 8-8.

True regarding the record but New Orleans looked like a team completely unprepared after a bye week and now several key players are injured. I'm not even sure 8-8 is attainable.

7-9 was my original prediction, before the team decided to give us a false sense of hope for something better.

Yeah I had us at 2-2 through the first four as well. I'd be lying to say I thought we'd beat the Saints, but I'm bummed that we had a chance to be 3-1 in a weak division. I'd also say that after watching Dallas, NYG and Philly games this week, we looked the worst of any of those teams.

we all knew we would win 6-8 games this season - we can still do that
we shouldn't have won the Green Bay game and we're lucky to be 2-2 - that's who we are
hopefully we can beat the giants, eagles and cowboys but we will only win games against better teams if we get lucky
just saw that the Redskins are favored against the Panthers this week - maybe we'll get lucky again

Favored against Carolina? Really??? That seems nuts to me.
Also, I know they have Aaron Rodgers and that is worth a lot, but the Packers just aren't that great this year. Just not a good football team overall. We shouldn't be hanging our hats on that one.
It is what it is. I'm not going to cry and bitch when we don't win games. But last night was just embarrassing. Looked forward to the game all day long and turned it off before halftime. Garbage.

Unfortunately for us, Cam has our number.
Historically, he's beaten three straight times since 2012.
Hope this time we wake up.

thinking that things will change when we start winning is just stupid - this franchise has averaged under 8 wins a season since 1999
we need to stop doing what we've been doing and bring in new people and make them accountable for making things better here
good players and good coaches want to play for franchises that are well managed
we can become that type of franchise as soon as Dan Snyder wants to make it happen

I understand your point, but how many times have we done exactly what you're saying we need to do? We've brought in new people and changed things probably as much or more often than any other team in the league. We've had countless coaches. Different approaches to roster building. A ridiculous number of starting QBs. Several GMs and front office switches.
Honestly, I think the approach to building through the draft and stability at the HC position has been okay the past several years. We've run the way most other teams do. Unfortunately, let's be honest that it doesn't matter much because nobody likes or trusts Bruce Allen.

That's a fair point man. The Giants suck, and they put 31 points up on Carolina. No excuses this Sunday at home.

I agree that we've had some good players and some good coaches but I disagree that this franchise is managed as well or the same way as most other franchises - specifically, this franchise is not managed like the better franchises in that there is little to no accountability when players or coaches do not do their jobs as well as they can - why is Jay Gruden and Bruce Allen still here?
this franchise has been widely regarded as being a joke for a long time - Dan Snyder needs to address that by getting rid of Bruce Allen and bringing in a GM and letting him bring in a new HC and put together a new FO
things will not change here if we keep managing this franchise the same way - we'll see good players and good coaches come in but we still see mediocrity on the field

He's a smug ass, and nobody respects or (more importantly) trusts him. I agree he's been better about the cap than previous people here, but that's a pretty low bar. As much as I hate to say it, compare what Bruce has done to what Howie Roseman has done and done consistently and done quickly with the Eagles. Its an insult to gurus everywhere to lump Bruce in there.

I guess... I just recall Grossman and fat Al days... Maybe we over payed for Norman, but other then that? We've done very well with contracts and FA. Even the Kurt Grossman debacle was handled well- guy is a bust for that kind of money. Best D in the league and he has them looking beatable every week! LMMFAO we arent great ut we've made great decisions.. Man I hope Guice has a speedy recovery

are you suggesting that this franchise is better off with Bruce Allen?
maybe i could ask you the same question - do you even have a clue about what is going on here?

So again a solid showing vs. Carolina. Any thoughts about the game?
In all honesty, I'm having a hard time figuring out strengths this season.

I'm with you, man. I really thought it was the d-line and o-line. How frustrating to watch the line completely unable to get pressure on Newton in the second half yesterday?
Glad to see them get the W yesterday, and kinda not surprised either. This is how this team has been for a while.
Fully expected the Panthers to win on that last drive too. It was great to see the team hang on at the end.
btw Was anyone at Fedex yesterday? On tv it really seemed like cheers when Carolina got a first down or scored or whatever.

from the sound of it there were a lot of Panther fans there - FedEx Field has had a lot of fans from the opposing teams for over 10 years
btw - the opening line was Redskins by 1 and it is now at 1.5 - going to be a lot of disappointed puke fans at the game this Sunday

It really sounded like that, didn't it??? Damn.
I was considering thinking about going to the game this Sunday. Haven't been.... wow, since the playoff game when RG3 got hurt.
