In saying "win" they're jobs back I can only summize you mean a better player c-ame along and out-performed.

Works for me As long as we're upgrading players & skill they can do whatever

put another way .... the roster this season will be good enough to be competitive

This cap thing caused some "issues" with our plans. But as stated above, this team WILL be competitive. Need proof?


We decisively won an entire game without RGIII last year...
We closed out another game without RGIII...

What I'm saying is... This team turned the corner last year and it's bigger than any one player. They bought in. They're exceeding in many aspects of the game and they'll continue to do so. This did NOT just occur last year, as many of us saw the progress increasing. It just finally translated into Wins.

I agree CLL - the people 'managing' the roster and this franchise have done an incredible job over the past few years

this team will be better this season and while I'm not saying we'll win the NFC East again - we will be competitive - we will be playing with an attitude again

by next season's free agency time I predict this franchise will be in a position of really great strength - I don't ever see these guys just adding the BPA
they will continue to value each and every player they bring in here
they will also ONLY keep those players that they feel will really help the other players around them

we all are now seeing the results of what happens when guys know what they are doing AND have a plan

the Shanaplan is going to be looked at and respected for a long time

And it's not surprising. If your the type of person who can past the tip of your nose, you could see that they were headed in the right direction. There's plenty of crow to be served for those who wanted Bruce, Mike and even Haz gone. Snyder had the mentality of many of those on this board, as fan and you can't be successful being a fan. I'm glad that he's sat back with the right people in hand and let something materialize. His patience was rewarded last year. He accomplished something greater than he ever has as an owner. Last season reinforced his new way of conducting operations and there's still room for improvement.

Well after how many years it's about time wouldn't you think? Personally I still am not a Haslett fan, however I hope he will call more blitzes and they won't be the same ones over and over. I know the cap issue really hurt us but I hope that Danny boy will continue to just sit back and sign the checks and let the Football People continue to make the choices on talent. I hope that we also can resign Fred on a 1 or 2 year deal and if his tear heals and he get's his speed back we can redo his contract. But you never know what will happen. The Browns seem to want him and that is close to his hometown........

Fred'll be back for one year, so that he can get the big bucks next year. He's not gonna get a good deal right now. He's got to prove he's back before anyone is going to offer him anything long-term.

Tight ends will figure prominently in new Cleveland coach Rob Chudzinski's offense, though Davis will likely be relegated to a blocking role.
The Browns recently signed free-agent tight end Gary Barnidge and reportedly are interested in Washington's Fred Davis.

Kellen Davis has an entirely different skill set from Fred... and is NOT much of a threat as an offensive weapon... They are still interested in OUR Davis...

I think they're 'interested' trey but I doubt that Fred is going to like the 'level of that interest

Fred's best deal IMHO is to play with RG3 and get a better shot at playing in the playoffs PLUS get paid well as well

The problem is, the team cannot pay him as he probably warrants... so, he'll have to "trust" that he'll be "taken care of" down the road. Not reassuring.

While I certainly "hope" that he will re-sign with the Redskins, I think I am far less certain of that than you.

I'm not certain about it at all - I just think that Fred Davis has to see that the 'best' opportunity for him is playing with RG3 & not Weeden and the other losers that are called the Browns

Free agent TE Fred Davis had dinner with Bills officials on Saturday night.

Coach Doug Marrone, GM Buddy Nix, and assistant GM Doug Whaley were all in attendance. It's the first non-Redskins or Browns nugget on Davis since free agency opened. Buffalo has been awfully quiet, but Davis would be a fine addition to the offense as a field-stretching tight end. Scott Chandler tore his ACL in Week 16, and the Bills don't have a capable in-house replacement.

we know he's not the brightest penny in the drawer and he's made some bad choices ... but ...

I thought he'd see that he'd get a lot more out of playing with RG3

The Redskins are at a real disadvantage to any team with cap space in FA negotiations... sucks, but it is what it is.

Shefter is normally pretty good with anything about the Skins ..

DD was just another, VERY over rated NFL lineman - Fred Davis has a lot of potential - certainly, he would get more money, but ...

I do not care about Fred Davis anymore. And, yes, his desire to be paid what he does not deserve is part of it. But I just do not have a good feeling about his oncoming performance this year.

THINK about it, all this guy has done over the last two seasons is being suspended for substance abuse ... and then got hurt when he was "about to have" hit his break out season with us. His POTENTIAL success for receiving yards in HIS record during the past season could only have been explained due to two names: RGIII and Alfred Morris.

What this guy is selling is POTENTIAL.

That potential has A LOT more possibility to come to a successful realisation in DC with RGIII and Alfred Morris. But I do not think he understands it. He is looking for a short tem payout instead of signing a one-year deal with us. We spoiled him with the franchise tag.

FRANKLY, I do not think this guy is very smart . He will not move ahead as a player in Buffalo. Let him walk. Move on. Save the cap space and choose wisely in the Draft.

You know a player is overpaid and overrated when a teams pays what the player thinks he is worth instead of what the record shows.

Let him walk into the wasteland of another unsuccessful season in Buffalo.

At this stage of his career, we shouldn't be talking about Fred's potential anymore. If he was a free agent on another team, would we consider signing him? I think we'd view him as competition for Paulsen, and nothing more. He obviously wants to be paid starter money, and good starter money at that. We haven't got that money to spend on somebody who we can't really rely on not to do something stupid during the season, or even before.

It's interesting to me how little interest Davis has sparked around the league. I think I overestimated how much teams would pursue him.

I personally still want to see him here, but it's becoming increasingly clear that our cap situation makes that very unlikely. Our only hope lies in the fact that Buffalo is the only other team with any real interest at this point. He might elect to take a short, smaller contract with the Skins, knowing that our offense gives him the chance to put up big numbers, and wait for his chance next year. Personally I wouldn't mind him having his contract year here and seeing him go after that.

The Bills will host TE Fred Davis for a free-agent visit on Wednesday.

Davis dined with Bills execs Saturday night and will visit the club facility this week. Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Redskins remain interested in re-signing Davis ...

... and the Jets are interested, too. (This is the first time we've seen the Jets linked to Davis.) The Browns no longer appear to be in the running.
