I was on the road yesterday and had to listen to the game in the car. Side note: the new Redskins radio show seems to have Doc Walker taking Sam Huff's place I guess just for the away games. HUGE improvement. I love Sam Huff, but really time to move on there. Doc Walker is an unabashed homer, smart and knows what he is talking about. Loved him on the show yesterday.

Anyway, I just got to actually see some of the highlights this morning on ESPN. That play where RGIII avoided the sack on the left side of the field and then threw across the field to find Davis on the other side was FILTHY. The radio call didn't remotely do it justice. That was some Brett Favre-gun slingin' s***!!! Only, Griff looked like he meant to do it instead of just whipping it over there!!

Wow! what a game. For my last Skins game in Texas I went out in a blaze of glory. Got into it with a Steelers fan early then finished it off taking a packers chick home!

Anyways, what a game! I don't have a voice anymore. Ear muffs kids!

One play that continues to bug me and i hope you guys can explain it. I believe it was 1st quarter, New orleans was backed up in thier own endzone, maybe 3rd down. Brew Brees dropped back to pass in his own endzone, the recievers were covered and he threw the ball away (at the ground and landed about at the line of scrimmage i believe) to avoid the sack.
He was within the hash marks to avoid intentional grounding, but why wasn't this a safety?

Two words: Scab refs.

The running back was a few yards away, but he was clearly grounding it. Bad no-call.

That was unreal. Lead by a rookie QB, 4 yards short of 100 by a rookie RB, 2nd best receiving day by a WR basically playing in his first real game.......

DL played very well, but most pressure brought by LBs (technically LBs, BO is basically a DE), but OL played well also -- and I'll eat crow on that.

I did not expect what I saw yesterday. There were plays I literally was amazed by RGIII --- i.e., the play where he rolled out under pressure and threw off his back foot to the WR as he was just going out of bounds.

Now I also have to give credit to MS and KS. They allowed RGIII to get in rythm and make easy inital throws and give him some confidence. A couple of those screens weren't directly on target, but obviously giving him those easy plays provide confidence.

Funny and so true. I was just listening to fans calling in to sing RGIII's praises today and thinking that same thing.

I don't have a link to it, but I was watching NFL Network this am and they had Donovan McNabb sitting in on the show. They tasked him with talking about Griffin's day.

Laughed my hind parts off when he had to comment on the game plan that the Shannahan's put together for the QB and how they tailored it to his strengths. I literally envisioned him with a crow in his mouth the entire time.

Most of the good has already been covered, but I wanted to point out two things that I didn't see anyone touch on.

Gomes and Daughty both came up with critical INTs. Gomes' was more important and may have been the play of the game. Daught's pick would have been just as effexctive if he just batted the pass down. However, as we saw in the SB, batting the pass down gives other players a chance to catch it.

Speeking of Gomes. He had a Great game! He kind of made a bone headed play (that incorrectly) drew a 15 yard PF for hitting a player after the play. Live Ithought that the hit would draw a flag before one ever came out, but when they replayed the play you could see that it was a bad call.
Why was it a bad call? Becuase the RB was still live! He was laying a a Skins player and hadn't hit the ground AND the whistle hadn't blown yet!

I don't see how it could be a PF for hitting the RB late if he wasn't down by contact yet and the whistle hadn't blown.

I also, thought the refs let the defenses hit both QBs late!

Breese also was ticking me off. How many pass did he throw that he was intentionally grounding the pass, but he threw the pass somewhere in the direction of a player and avoided the the penalty. If I was that frustrated I bet the defense was really torqued, but they didn't do anything stupid.

For sure its' better to be sittin here basking in the glow of a good win than the poor guy in St. Louis being called into the big office to explain to the guy sitting in the leather chair why they chose Luck over RGIII.

Oj, The guy sitting in the leather chair in Indy chose Luck. The coach/GM didn't have a call in that. The owner fell in love with Luck the moment he knew Manning was going to be gone all last season.

I was watching the post game interview with RGIII. I was very impressed once again. He did a very good job of critiquing himself. He specifically gave Garcon credit for the TD. He mentioned that there are not too many guys that can make that grab and take it to the house when the QB throws it late. Looking at it, it could have been thrown a little better. Liking that RGIII acknowledged that even before viewing all of the tape.

Ya'll kicked our butts. No ifs ands or buts about it. Your D is legit. The front 7 ate our line's lunch. Worst I've seen our Offense play in awhile. Quietest I've heard the Dome after the 1st Quarter in a long time as well.

Just a great gameplan all around. Completely out-coached

The replacement refs need to go. They were just terrible, for both teams.

I'm not jumping to any conclusions, but I think we are just going to have to take our medicine this year and sing Moon River. It is what it is.

Glad you came back. I'm hoping the loss will get you guys re-focused and you start playing like last year's team, especially when you play the rest of the NFC East.

That pass he threw to the ground in the endzone was very close to being intentional grounding. At first I thought it was until I saw Sproles come running closer to Brees.

great day to be a REDSKIIN fan. Impressed by RG III's arm when throwing on the run. Cundiff got all the FG's, Extra points and prevented a TD on a NO return. good mix of pass/rush plays. good Defense all game. Complete team effort

The problem i see is that Sproles was also in the endzone and surrounded by skins on thier way to Brees. If Sproles were in the field of play or the ball landed in the field of play i could let it go.
