Does that mean our back up OT will be release by some other team today?

Practice Squad guy. Shanahan's famous quote is that it's a 61 man roster.

He'll be cut if he isn't traded.

To me this is the biggest shocker. He must be a practice beast.

The goal must be to try to sneak Brandon Thompson on the PS. But, he's out performed Ced Griffin. I think him and crawford could easily start

Here is the Redskins unofficial cut list as of 3 p.m., as verified by numerous media outlets (including this one). They need to get to 53 by 9 p.m. (so they have to cut 22 today; this list contains 18 names):

RB Tim Hightower

WR Terrence Austin

RB Tristan Davis

QB Jonathan Crompton

C Erik Cook

CB Brandyn Thompson

CB David Jones

OT Tom Compton

OT Willie Smith

CB Travon Bellamy

OL Grant Garner

LB Bryan Kehl

LB Brian McNally

DE Doug Worthington

DL Delvin Johnson

DL Marlon Favorite

LB Donnell Holt

FB Dorson Boyce (note: this is not official, but I was told it would be eventually as he has an injury and a settlement is being discussed. He’s a potential practice squader).

I heard on ESPN 980 that he wasn't eligible. Did you here differently?

Can go on reserve/suspended and not count

If he is suspended, I believe he won't be allowed back in b/c it's his 3rd time. So pointless.

Banks makes team, Hightower doesn't. AAA to be traded.

Big surprise to Banks detractors. Not so surprising for anyone objective. Good moves by Shanny.

I thought he didn't appear in enough games last year to lose his eligibility. I could be wrong.

Any word on my boy Briscoe?

+1 to the Banks comment above.

Lets wait for the details to emerge for this suspension...

Well, the ESPN guys were wrong about David Jones so they could be wrong about this as well.

The NFL has hit Redskins safety Tanard Jackson with an indefinite suspension for violating the league's drug policy, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reports.

Jackson, who has been suspended twice previously for running afoul of the league's drug policy, signed with the Redskins in April after five seasons in Tampa Bay and had put himself in position to earn a spot on the 53-man roster.

Out for at least a year unless he somehow manages to win an appeal

Well, at least it frees up a spot! LOL On the bright side.

Re: Tanard Jackson. What a stupid thing to do. Oh well, I guess that's how Boomstine got his spot.

Meanwhile, Kenny Britt only gets a game. Mara must be blackmailing Goodell.
