I'd agree until we put it on the field it's not proof we're headed in the right direction, but to say it's not "progress" is such a passive, just please me I'm not invested attitude. Why would ANYONE come here when they take over a 4-12 team with an egomaniac as our most talented player, a completely ineffective QB, our rock LT suddenly retired, a D that can't get a turnover, a sack or a key stop in cap hell when they get handed the blame for our mess the first year they get here and just start to try to change things? You can do better then that.

I agree that the progress has not translated into much as far as the product on the field is concerned, but there has been improvement - I agree that it is frustrating but we need to give these guys time to undo the mess we were in - many here had unrealistic expectations - I understand that we're just fans but the reality is that we need to give these guys the time to get things in place

hopefully, this coming off season, these guys can find some draft picks and some free agents to go along with the guys here that have shown they can and really want to contribute

I do think that there are a lot of players around the NFL that now have a different idea of what is involved here - we're no longer just throwing money at players for all the wrong reasons like we used to, that's for sure and we no longer have Snyder sticking his nose where it doesn't belong
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

No, they get no time. I was supporting us while we were losing all these years. I don't care it wasn't them, I demand a winning team that dominates their opposition and I demand it now. This whole mess, our entire roster and ineffective team is their personal fault because they didn't fix this. They had an entire off season for God's sake. Fire them now. Today. I want to be pleased.

I haven't given up on ShanAllen experiment, but all this intangible 'progress' does't do it for me. The product on the field isn't much, if any, better than last year and 1 win (which looking at the schedule and the way we've played the 2nd 1/2 of this year) better than last year, to me, is treading water, not getting better.

I was just talkin to a friend this morning about this. This off-season and next season will really make or break it for me. I'm not expecting Super Bowl or even playoffs, but consistant on the field tangible progress is what I'm looking for. "I feel" and "played with heart" don't give me a warm and fuzzy. Wins give me a warm and fuzzy. And we ain't producing them.
...any given Sunday....

I don't agree with you we didn't show improvement this year in many critical areas, including results. We won more and were competitive in many more games and most of our addition was by replacement and subtraction. But I do agree with you improvement should be clearer next year.

We were close last year in 1/2 the games we lost (I think it was 6 games 7 pts or less). So to try to infer that we had 12 blowouts and 4 squeakers last year ain't workin on me. And you really, honestly believe that 1 more win (which we have 3 tough games including 2 divisional games) is progress? It's in the gray area, and grasping at possibilities. I want decisive examples, and that isn't it IMO.

That's what you're looking for that's wrong the first year. Our team was so broken last year and when you add undoing cap hell, replacing our career rock LT, fixing a D that while statistically high wasn't producing turnovers, sacks or key stops and needing a youth movement, you're looking for decisive, immediate examples in a multi year process. It's not going to happen, sorry.

So you can't have decisive examples of progress in the first year? I call BS.

<~~~~~Wishful Thnker.

The big difference between this year and last year:

Hope. Simple, as can be, Hope.

We have a starting quality QB. With Dmac at the helm, we make big plays. If we can somehow do it consistently, we'd win a few more games.

We have a coach. A real one, one who will not flinch at high paid cry babies.

It feels like for me that we have a better upside with what we have now, than what we had last year. This year the culture at Ashburn has been changed. We are setting the base, the foundation, making players WANT to play instead of expecting to play because we paid them to. The past few years, we have seen 'Tana get open but not get the ball, we have seen him give up on routes out of frustration, we have not seen that this year. So yah, I think it is Hope, hope that next year or the year after we can field a team that we can watch the whole way thru w/o saying WTF (out loud.)

Devin Thomas had upside, too. Where did that get him?

Let's see, Thomas couldn't crack the starting lineup. Dmac has won how many playoff games? Shanny has created marquee RB's out of no namers because of his O line. Give it time, let it marinate.

Join us brother. It is just a suggestion. We gain nothing if you do or not.

But if we are fans, it is a lot more interesting if we support ANY progress that we see or feel is being made.

Do not think for a second that I did not give a bit of thought whether I was in this bandwagon or not. I did. It took a while. The basic question is:

Are we better off with Bruce and Mike than we were with Danny and Vinny???

If the answer is YES, there you have your TANGIBLE progress. This was a mess and, trust me, it would have been a lot simpler for me to dismiss any and everything that Daniel Snyder has done and will EVER do in relation to this franchise.

It would have been VERY SIMPLE to say:

As long as Daniel Snyder owns this team, we will never amount to anything. He is a curse, a terrible owner, a greedy businessman, a dislikable person, and a disgraceful manager. He will NEVER EVER have a true winner.

But while I believe that he rightfully deserves all of those adjectives and more, I feel that we are better off with this management than we were before. Am I a fan of the Skins? I will always be win or lose, regardless of the Preston Marshals or Daniel Snyders who hurt this team.

It is MY team, not theirs.

Nothing dumb about that. Only heart and mind.

That's right...I'm bumping the Shanawagon thread.

I'm still here.

Here's another unpopular and very questionable move, but I'm still trying to have faith in the coaches decisions to make this a winning football team.

Bye McNoober!
