What a wonderful combination, a ticket made way up in heaven

(Blown up)Hey brother, JSPB, even when you make an argument for the sake of it, just to get on to others, it has to have some substance. Please do not remind me that disgraceful moderator who left with thetail behind his legs when it was proven EVEN by Dan Snyder himself that Vinny was useless.
I always think it's funny how Vinny was the scapegoat. We draft Taylor and

ey, that was Joe Gibbs making the picks. We trade a second rounder for Jason Taylor, that was all Vinny.
Every personnel blunder in the last ten years is attributed to Vinny Cerrato and every achievement is attributed to the coach, or a coordinator, or Snyder or someone else.
Vinny isn't the reason the team has been absolutely direction-less for 18 years. He made some serious errors in judgment and was not a very good GM (though, how much power did he really have) but let's not act like he's the cause of all our problems. He had to work with 5 coaches over 10 years to try to get them personnel who would fit their own specific system... and what does every coach do when the first take over a football team? Make trades, and in the NFL that means losing draft picks.
I'm not convinced anyone would have been able to have success piloting the Redskins the last ten years. The real blame is with Snyder and the total lack of direction he's had for the team since he took over. (And before that the total ineptitude of the front office pretty much blowing every first round pick from 1992-1998... though Tom Carter and Kenard Lang weren't totally awful.)
That's all I was saying. Sorry RiC and SkinsJock, but Vinny wasn't the real problem, and actually has made some very good draft picks during his career.

I was originally pleased that Snyder was able to put together the package that resulted in the Redskins being owned by basically a Redskins' fan - I also thought that bringing in Cerrato after what he'd done with the 9ers was a good move
goes to show you how stupid and gullible I was
It's not Cerrato's fault OR Snyder's fault that this franchise has become such a joke; that failure lies with both of them but mainly with Snyder -
he's the owner
he should have given up any involvement much sooner
he should NEVER have had any contact with the players
I will say that Cerrato might have made some 'good' decisions but I feel that the failure to be any good on the field enabled us to have some high draft picks - IMO this was due to him and his staff and the terrible advice he gave to his boss
Both of these guys should be looked at in the same light - they are dumb and dumber -
they formed the worst combination of a FO in recent NFL history
so they are both 'winners', I guess
we are moving on and I'm encouraged - no more Snyder & Cerrato
I think that Allen and Shanahan have done very well considering the age of a number of the players on the roster. The players on hand were also not brought in to suit or be able to complement the other players here because we had no real FO for so many years
we need to get a lot younger and we will see more improvement than we've already seen because these 2 guys know what they are doing
we were worse than a 4-12 club last year and we're seeing a lot of good things already - I'm encouraged
I really do enjoy watching the games more even though we have a lot of issues to overcome

We weren't, in fact, worse than a 4-12 club. We actually WERE a 4-12 club...or is that those arbitrary stats you denounce again?

Man oh man -
you are so right as usual - we were 4-12, for sure
we just looked a lot worse than that on the field and I don't know about what you thought, I thought we were lucky to win 4 games
here we are - no more stupid FO, no more stupid (bingo calling) OC - and especially for those that liked our D last year - NO MORE STUPID GREG BLACHE
AND BEST OF ALL - a QB we can build around who was worth a lot more than what we gave up

I thought it was putrid the first half last year until the bingo man came in. If we woulda had him all season, it woulda been better. The offense is still subpar, but it's better than last year.
And I'm not going to address the other points as we've already 'discussed' it enough.

It doesn't matter if he blows up somewhere else. He showed his hand clearly enough in interviews: the man did not have the attitude to make it work here, period. Maybe he learns from being released here and makes a career out of it, but that will in no way prove the Redskins wrong.

Another name I heard over the weekend Bru was "Marko Mitchell"... but you know how that is my friend, once something negative happens people will always try and say "we shoulda" or "we coulda".
Heck, did anyone see how many old Skins were playing on the Sunday night game for Pitt and Saints????
