Is ranked eighth in club history with 349 career receptions.

Is eighth in club history in receiving touchdowns with 26.
Owns the club record for receiving yards in a single season (1,483 yards in 2005) with Washington.
His 70-catch average during his four seasons with the Redskins is a record for a franchise that has employed Hall of Fame receivers Wayne Millner, Bobby Mitchell, Charley Taylor and Art Monk.
Has posted three seasons with more than 1,000 yards receiving in his career (2003 with the New York Jets, 2005 and 2008 with the Washington Redskins).
Has 21 career games with more than 100 yards receiving (14 with the Washington Redskins and seven with the New York Jets).
referenceNow I'll agree that he's not putting up Brandon Marshall/Wes Welker numbers, but damn it, he's no scrub. And with the plethora of garbage we've had coaching this team, I think he's done fairly well. It's so much easier to be negative...
I'll concede that every 3 or so years his legs work and he can get behind the defense. However, he is considered by numerous scouts and statistical sites to have some of the worst hands in the NFL, which anybody who watches the games can figure out for themselves. He also is too weak to run a lot routes properly against press coverage.
As far as him vs. previous redskins, the 05 year was great. Other than that, it isn't hard in today's pass heavy NFL to break records of previous receivers, especially on the Redskins. Being 8th on that list isn't all that impressive.
More frustrating has been watching him in the last few years as the primary target in a west coast offense. He cannot be a number one, especially in a west coast, because he just doesn't have consistent route running or ball skills. I have no problem with him being a #2 deep threat, but he is not a primary receiver, just like Lee Evans and Ted Ginn Jr. aren't primary receivers. And its not really his fault because he was put in that position. The front office needs to go get a #1

I'll agree to disagree. I don't see him as bad as you do, and I admitted that he's not one fo the greats, but he has done some things here. I guess I like to have my glass 1/2 full.

While not among the elite, his hands have been fine when taking passes from a QB with some understanding of the concept of "touch".
Hypothesis: Moss' percentage of drops was lower with Brunell and Collins than with Campbell.
Method: My infallible recollection of anectdotal data
Result: True

So basically you are saying the redskins should not use any qb's with a decent arm, because Moss can only catch balls that are lobbed from Chad Pennington, Mark Brunell, and Todd Collins, some of the weakest armed qb's in the history of the NFL.

Yes
or, alternatively, a quarterback with a decent arm, who knows how to adjust his throws to the circumstance. Hey, who's to say? I mean, there actually HAVE been such quarterbacks in the league.

There have also been receivers who can catch.

Why do you even bother at this point? Reason just isn't going to work.

Interesting to see the facts of this Moss possible HGH deal. Phillip Daniels need to be silent and let Moss or Shanahan speak.
Concerning whether Moss is a #1 or #2 who cares...it isn't required that you have a #1 receiver to win the SUPERBOWL if he's not a #1 of your liking. He just needs to play well and step up when the time is needed. He's been a great Redskins since he's been here.
The average fan that doesn't know anything feels if the guy isn't on his way to the Hall of Fame then he must not be a #1.
I think the issue with our pass receiving group has been more of shaky offensive line play, no consistency with coordinators, and inconsistent quarterback play....oh yeah and no other guy opposite of Moss that is capable of having big games. Not Moss fault. He is what he is...if he was with New England or New Orleans in his prime he would be unstoppable.
He's older now and he's fallen off a bit, now people forget what good he's done for the most part (ex. Jansen).

I think I make a legit point. Moss has had limited success with qb's that don't have terrible arms.
