Well, like always, maybe next year.
Ya think??
It's not the stadium.
It's not the fans.
It's the team. Please, lets not blame this crap on uniforms and lucky charms.
Glad you mentioned this. I was starting to think it was the parking lot.

It's hard to believe the Skins were ranked among the top 5 teams just a few weeks ago. Now I wouldn't be suprised to see them ranked in the bottom 5. They haven't been the same since the Fecals game. What's happened since then to cause such a sharp drop in their performance?
Maybe it is

After seeing us piss this game away against a far inferior team, (cowpies) the parking lot doesn't look so bad.

Well, look at the bright side...
The Redskins and the Cowboys will win the EXACT SAME NUMBER of Superbowls this year.
...which looks to be one less than the Giants, but that's another issue altogether.

They held the Cowboys to 14 points with our offense doing NOTHING! The defense shouldn't even be mentioned except that the offense owes them an apology
Can't blame the defense for the loss but something has to be done about our PATHETIC pass rush. We had ZERO sacks tonight and got virtually no pressure on Romo. On that touchdown pass he had all day to throw.
It's time to turn the page on the Jason Taylor experiment. He was terrible tonight...as he has been the rest of the season. D-Evans isn't playing great, but he's been playing clearly better than JT. One of the two best plays of the night came by DEvans on the tipped pass. I can't remember two plays that JT has made all year.

Play Colt and have an open competition in training camp next year.

We need to lose the oxygen machines, everyone is soo eager to grab the oxygen mask, I just think it puts our guys in a weaker mental state I think more the people who aren't using it who are watching the guys who are, plus its taking away from the chemistry of guys talking more. The best teams ever weren't using life support on the sidelines.

Not as bad as the pessimists say now; not as good as the optimists said a few weeks ago.
That assessment goes for:
- Zorn
- Campbell
- the team in general
Thomas needs to play like a professional, and the passing improves.

It's the same problem we've had since 2000.... Lack of offense. Our D is not the same D as the past few years, we cannot lean on them like we've been doing the past few years. They cannot hold the other teams like before

A lot of people are quick to throw this team under the bus. I would like to know from everyone what they truley thought this team's record would be before the season started. New coach, new offense, starting rookie safety. Seriously you all act like every year we should be unstoppable. Yes it sucks to lose at home, but before the season started i doubt a lot of people would have even thought wed have 6 wins. Most skins fans are spoiled and I dont know why, every year this team plays better than they should have.
Basically RELAX... We were not that good to start with, we barely won games, Ive seen Portis carry us all year, I knew we would have problems down the stretch, this comes as no suprise to me.
I am not however about to bench Campbell and put in Brennan. We can still win games.

Honestly, I'm sure noone thought we'd have 6 wins right now. BUT THAT's NO EXCUSE. When we were 5-1 we were in great shape, sure none thought we'd be there but we were there. We might as well stay there. It's like saying, cool we are ahead, let's relax and let everyone catch up.

chiefhog44 wrote:Man, the more I listen to Zorn's PC, the more I'm placing the entire blame on the o-line. Sounds like we missed out on a lot of deep balls bacause Campbell didn't have protection and had to throw early to underneath receivers. Very frustrating. Sounds like we may have some real trouble for the rest of the year against attacking defenses.
I agree with this 100% about the offensive woes - it's NOT Campbell's fault, and it's NOT the WRs fault. It's all on the O-line and their consistent failure to give JC time. JC's a solid QB, somewhere between good and great, and I think we've got talent at WR, but if JC's always got people in his face and has to scramble for his life every play, the passing game WILL suffer, regardless of which WRs are on the field. EDIT: I just realized, this passing offense reminds me of Detroit the last year and a half - a decent QB and plenty of talent at WR (especially before they let R. Williams go), but with poor pass blocking, they weren't lighting it up like they should. Same with the Rams, who've really lost some talent and had some injuries on the O-line. QBs like Peyton and Brady have been great in part because they've got solid blocking, something JC does not currently enjoy.
I especially think the critism of the WRs is misplaced - we've got a good group there. The 49ers, Bears, Falcons, Dolphins, Jets, and Bucs are all averaging more passing yards/game than us. Does anyone think it's because their WRs are so much better? If JC ever gets TIME in the pocket on a consistent basis, our passing game will thrive. Until then, it's going to be a mess.
The D-line play is also sub-par, although the secondary has covered for them part of the season. Now that starters like Springs are missing time, the D-line and their inability to generate any pressure is getting exposed. Romo had all day back there, and any QB is going to look good if he has time. Carter's getting neutralized, and you can't even tell Jason Taylor's on the field. The pass rush is just NOT getting it done.

JC has legs, he can run and buy some time. I blame the whole Offense.

I think that something is amist with the O-Line from the players to the coaches. They seem to be okay run blocking but it's like they are stuck in the mud pass protecting.
There was a shot of Buges on the sideline last night and he just looks worn out. He just looks whipped and it looks like it's translating down to the O-Line. He lost his baby and I'm not sure that has taken it's toll on him and hence the O-Line.

two points. devin thomas needs help, like return to basics help.
second point. CP needs more than 15 carries in a game. he had 20+ all the time during our winning first half of the season. remember when he got 120+ yards. seems like the good old days. last two games? 13 and 15 carries. nice. way to give up on the rushing attack zorn.

Come on, you're going throw JC under the wheels for playing like crap behind one of the worst offensive lines in football? NO QB would have any success playing behind our O line. They suck!

Yeah, it's entirely too much to ask of a modern day NFL offense to score more than 1 TD in a game.

As long as the Skins continue to get no production from the offense, the number in the loss column will continue to increase.

Exactly. Look at Peyton Manning. The Colts have had injuries on the O-line this year, and Peyton's rating is down 12 points from last year and
35 points from his career high. His yards/attempt is currently his second-worst ever (only his rookie year was worse). A QB facing consistent pressure is not going to have a good day, and that's true for ANY QB. None of the top 10 (by QB rating) QBs in the league have been sacked as many times as JC.

Just like in years past...
We have a defense that AS USUAL can hold most teams under 21 points... If we could simply score a TD...

This team is schizophrenic. Has been for a long time. Like the last 10 years or so.
You never really know if they`ll show up each Sunday. It`s exasperating.
This was a huge game and we let it go. Were outmatched by a bunch of Pukes that simply had more hunger to win.
The season could unravel pretty much from here on. The next few weeks will be brutal, specially against Seattle and Baltimore. I think we lose the Giants game. Not pretty.
