I heard he turned down the job because he couldn't work with himself.
But he plays with himself because nobody wanted to do it with him.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!
We want Vinnie! We want Vinnie! We want Vinnie! We want Vinnie! We want Vinnie! We want Vinnie!
Danny can be in the booth and just call in plays when he feels like it - maybe just the Red Zone calls, to take any pressure off Vinnie.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

This charade is now also another acronym - DC also stands for Damage Control.
The Washington Redskins are looking for a Head Coach - instead of trying to select a Desirable Coach we are now in the Desperate Coach mode - instead of selecting from a number of applicants we are now down to who is desperate enough to take this job with the Danny Clown and his bozo sidekick?
this is such a joke
Exactly. We shouldn't hire anyone who is willing to take the job

Why? I know a guy who did.
He would do it in a second AGAIN.

Danny the Clown: Proof that I am the best owner / President/ GM who ever lived.
Norval: He just wants to win.
Neon Deion: I just want your MONEY.

BY ARTHUR STAPLE | arthur.staple@newsday.com 12:23 PM EST, February 7, 2008 Steve Spagnuolo signed a three-year deal to remain with the Giants as defensive coordinator, having decided not to pursue the Redskins' head coaching job, a person familiar with the situation told Newsday.
Spagnuolo's deal makes him the highest-paid defensive coordinator in the league.
Spagnuolo spent nearly a full day interviewing with Redskins owner Daniel Snyder and vice president of operations Vinny Cerrato, having flown to Washington, D.C., in a private jet of Snyder's on Tuesday, following the Giants' Super Bowl parade and stadium rally. Spagnuolo left Snyder's home late on Wednesday night without a contract offer, according to two people familiar with the discussions.
He met with Snyder and Cerrato late into the night on Tuesday, stayed over at a guest house on Snyder's property and resumed talks early Wednesday morning. Those lasted into the night, but Spagnuolo left for his home in suburban Philadelphia to discuss the situation with his wife, Maria.
Former Giants coach Jim Fassel is considered the top candidate for the job, along with former 49ers and Lions coach Steve Mariucci. One of the people familiar with the job search said the Redskins may choose either of the veteran coaches as early as Thursday afternoon.

Some are saying that DS will hold off until Monday to make an announcement simply to get better press coverage.
That would be bull...THERE IS NO REASON TO WAIT. This freakin' process has dragged on long enough. With Spags out Snyder has to know (or at least I hope he knows) who he wants. It's that simple.
Plus...what does Monday have to do with better press coverage? Oh wait, does Danny Boy not want to "upstage" the pro-bowl now???
Hire a freakin' coach and lets all move on. Sheesh!
" MAKE A DECISION DANNY !!!!!! "
HAIL TO THE REDSKINS. The finest team in the NFL because the FANS make it so.
at this point make an announcement on monday and during the press conference make it known that you have made yourself the head coach..
this is crazy no doubt but dan knows best..
Posted at 2:29 PM ET, 02/ 7/2008 Steve Spagnuolo Follow Up Steve Spagnuolo's agent, Bob LaMonte, chatted with me about the process briefly. There is an erroneous AP report stating that Spagnuolo told the Redskins he was not ready to be a head coach. League sources say that idea is ludicrous and that the Redskins were very much interested in him after 28 hours of meetings and he was very confident in his ability to be a head coach.
LaMonte did not want to address that report directly, but had this to say about why Spagnuolo chose to sign a new three-year deal with New York, which sources say will make him among the highest paid defensive coordinator in the game:
"At the end of the day we're very appreciative of the opportunity to interview here for the job," LaMonte said. "We appreciate the fact that they waited a month to do so, and the fact that they spent 20 hours interviewing him over three days. It was a very thorough process, and in the end it was just agreed that he would stay in New York. The Redskins are a first class organization, but Steve's heart was in New York, with his players and coaches."
As previously reported, the Redskins did not offer Spagnuolo the job and he departed home to New Jersey early this morning, around 1 am. League sources said after discussing his options with his wife Spagnuolo was to call owner Daniel Snyder today with his intensions, and at that time he opted to stay in New York and take a new deal from the Giants.
Spagnuolo and Jim Mora both pulled out on the Redskins and went on to lucrative deals elsewhere. Gregg Williams was on the verge of pulling out several times with Joe Gibbs urging him not to, and got a good gig in Jacksonville. Al Saunders was snapped up by St. Louis as soon as he was cut loose. Bill Cowher and Pete Carroll didn't want the job under this front office structure at all.
Looks like a highly devalued position. Hard to spin it any other way.

It has never been more embarassing to be a redskins fan like it is today. This being the last year of my club seat contract, could not have come at a better time. It is certain that I will not reup the contract, but I may not opt for the lower level in the years to come. To waste my hard earned money on a team where the owner can't humble himself to bring in the right people to do what they do best is personally offensive. The letter to terminate the contract goes out Monday and at this pace, I may be out for good. Thanks "mr. Snyder" for being a horses ass. We are a bigger joke than the raiders.

hitdoctor its gotten pretty awful around here hasn,t it....
It is virtually impossible to find a good replacement now.
Thanks for hand picking the coordinators danny boy.
Basically Danny wants to hire a guy to have no say in personnel and no say in his coaching staff. Wow Danny where are you going to find a guy like that?

I have the guy - except for # 3 above this job is perfect for Jim Fassel
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
I feel like D. Snyder has botched the search for a HC and has embarrassed the franchise in the process, we waited until after the SB just to get rejected by a division rival's dcoordinator. Gregg Williams, what can I say that just escapes me, all the learning from Joe Gibbs now useless, Jim Fassel is a joke, Mariucci just wants the money, and Meeks well does anyone think thats gonna happen. At this point ownership should be ashamed of itself.
