In HB-I, I pick FFA to handle Joe in the final head-to-head matchup. FFA!!! FFA!!! FFA!!!! :celebrate:

Ok, both joebod, and FFA picked the Steelers. You are backing FFA all the way, but you pick the other team?
:hmm:
Which one is it?

I'll take the Steelers for 51 total points, JSPB.

Good luck, joebagadonuts. My unusually good luck is bound to run out soon, so I think you will be the opponent that takes me down and puts me back in my rightful place. ;)

Surely there are good reasons why both of you are here and the rest of us are not but:

:hmm:

22 - 22? 23 - 21? 30 - 14?

No doubt there are good reasons why I am not around!

27-17, actually. My gut tells me that, given the history of the SuperBowl, that FFA was smart to take the over.

But he spotted you a TD. If it had been me, I would have gone 45. I suppose you could move up to 50.

I thought about going 45 (45 is right around what I would have done without knowing jbd's prediction), but then I remembered that I basically stole home field advantage from each of my opponents in the playoffs. (Not that it mattered, since I won each week on picks alone). But when I thought about picking one point above joe, it didn't sit right--I would rather be remembered as a loser than "that guy."

My logic for 51 was 34-17. . .but realistically speaking I'm betting on that blowout that we get in the Superbowl every few years. Honestly I don't think I have as good as odds as joe in this one.

Oh sure, wait until you get into the Show, and then take the high road!

I can't help it if my moral intuition didn't kick in until right when I needed a disclaimer for HB I.

Darn neurotoxins. . .

I'm predicting HB I will be decided by the tiebreaker, since the Sqwaks will stun the Stillers, cancelling out both FFA's and JBD's picks.

Its a win-win.

I get the prediction right, and my man, FFA, gets the crown. Things are looking great for next season. Can't wait for HB II.

And joebagadonuts wins HB-1. Congratulations. I think it was over when Redeemed picked FFA to win.

Glad I could be of service, joebagodonuts. I'll be waiting for my cut of the winnings.

I'm going to Disneyland!!!

Thanks for the congrats. And thanks to Redeemmed for giving me that final push I needed to get over the top. And thanks to FFA for a well fought....pick. The way Seattle came out on offense, I thought my goose was cooked for sure.

Congratulations Joe! You got the wins when you needed them! 8)

What amazes me the most is how disimilar can be the record of all hognosticators when you see it in one format or another.

Thanks JSPB22 for a well organised thread and the time and effort that went into making it happen.

And thanks for correcting my ID, in this post. And of course for all your hard work in the other thread that spawned this one.

I never had a chance. Well done, joe, and good luck in the next season.

Also, thanks to JSPB for putting in the work that it took to run this tournament. Thanks to my opponents for letting me get lucky in the head-to-head matchups, and thanks to joebagadonuts for keeping me humble.

I'm really just glad that the Steelers won, I've never been this satisfied with another team's Super Bowl victory before (or maybe it was just Seattle losing. . .)

Thanks, FFA, and good luck to you as well next season. Thanks also to JSPB and RiC for all their hard work this past year on the HBI and regular season picks. I had a lot of fun watching participants' progress as the year wore on, not to mention the friendly banter between several unnamed posters. I'm looking forward to the same next year.
