Anyways ZZ111 welcome to the board, as you have managed to get some heads turn around your way. I think REDEEMED explained the rest above.
ZZZ111 has been here for a while but I think he has a life and rarely visits anymore.
ZZZ111,
I get the point of the thread and others do to too. They just dont want to admit that they do.

ey the man though

No one thought he was HOF meterial when he first came into the league, but he went on to have a fine career (some say the best ever).
I know. Noone expect Steven Harris(Our UDFA WR) and McCune to be HOFers because they were drafted low. I know the truth though.

i think cooley is an elite tight end...but i guess im biased

I also think

ey is an elite tight end, I remember 50-50 quoting last year this, "

ey has the best hands on our team", and Coles saying," yeah

ey does hes amazing."
I am glad to have

ey, and I myself would take

ey over any tight end in the nfl except for Antonio Gates, and I really mean that, it is completely non-biased opinion that is really how I feel

Sorry I have been away for so long, but I got a little busy. I guess you want me to stir the pot a bit. No question about it, there are hidden gems in most drafts. We cant start comparing Cooley to anyone in the hall of fame. It is natural to think that players on your favorite team are better than they really are. Dont get me wrong because Cooley has potential, but to be and elite tight end, I dont think so. Someone stated that they would choose Cooley over any TE in the league except for Gates. Even most of the people here that are against me will disagree with that statement. That is the most ridiculous statement I have ever seen on any site. Gates, Gonzales, Crumpler, Heap, Witten, Dallas Clark, Randy McMichael just to get started. Say all you want but I am not going to change my mind. Some of you make solid points, but others are talking out of the wrong end!

K sorry let me change my statement a little, I would choose

ey over any TE except for Gates and Heap, because of their age. They rest are not very young and im sorry if you havent gotten this through your head yet, but WE on this board feel that

ey has potential to be up there on that list, you keep denying it but you will see this year

So...this is an old thread, but how many of you Winslow supporters STILL would choose Winslow over cooley, considering Winslow STILL doesn't have one catch in the nfl

No one in there right mind would pick KW1.5 over CC like some tried to point out when the pick was made. But lets be turthful about this....
Winslow caught 5 passes for 50 yards last year
That should make the choice harder for some

Winslow is a headcase and who knows when he will be playing, not to mention at 100%?

Yeah now its a no brainer, but this discussion was brought up in the offseason, and some people called me stupid for choosing cooley

As the OBC once said, "Hindsight is always 50-50".
If this were still draft day, I'd take K2, no question.
Fast forward to 2005..... I'm glad we took
ey. He is a Redskin to the bone.

I am very glad to have

ey as our H back but still think a big blocking/catching TE (in addition to #47) would add to the pass completion rate AND blocking schemes that we like to run.
I would not be surprised to see Winslow play very good football when he gets back as I hope he has had the wake up call that he obviously needed. His dad was an awesome NFL player.

If I had the two of them on draft day standing infront of me. If all the evidence of their abilities I had were gameday tapes I'd pick K2 no question.
However, we must be thankful that Gibbs is such a great judge of character. He picked up on the intangibles that seperated

ey from the rest.

ey's level head his kept in the hunt. His work ethic is making him an elite Hback. His heart is making him a go to guy. K2's juvenile behaviour has gotten him injured.
If I had the 2 of them infront of me and I had to judge their character and abilities it'd be a harder decision. I can't say it'd be easy even then because of K2's potential you'd want to take that risk. Thank goodness Gibbs is doing this and not me.

ey for the win.

Who is Kellen Winslow II?
I remember Kellen Winslow...great, fast, TE for "Air Coryell" at San Diego. Teamed with Charlie Joiner and John Jefferson to catch passes from Dan Fouts. Feared around the league, sure.
But Winslow II? Is he some guy who stole the Kellen Winslow's name? Somebody that people said the Redskins should have drafted in place of Sean Taylor?
Posted: Fri Dec 23, 2005 5:48 pm
by skinsfanno9
Considering we get Sean taylor plus

ey, probably a more realistic question would be Winslow II plus whoever the second round pick was that accompanied him.
But I think we can all be darn satisfied with

ey. Who knows, Winslow may be great when he gets in though. But his character is another issue altogether.

i would go after cooley cause it would be hard to ride a motorcycle and catch a football at the sametime.
although i would think long and hard on both of them
you can,t go wrong on either and if i had the chance to get both on the sameday i would in a heartbeat.

I can't believe there is actually more than one vote for KW2.
Are any of those serious?

I swear we have some crack-head fans from other teams voting here if Kellen Winslow can garner 14 votes

I've been called worse than a crack-head before, so it's no skin off my back. However, I do encourage you to READ some of the posts before theowing out names, so's you don't come off sounding foolish. Many of us who voted for KW2 actually took the time to read the initial posts and defend our votes.
SOmeone please pass the pipe.
