Your Final Thaughts on the Preseason.....

Post by skin_to_the_bone »

I think that a lot of things were irons out. Several needed areas were addressed. Taylor, Cooley, and Peirce did awesome. Injuries are pretty minimal although losing Jansen was a huge blow. Barrow didn't see much time, but should be ready for the opener. We saw us dominate 2 teams, have a couple close games, and get embarrassed by one.Ramsey struggled to find his comfort zone and Brunell won the qb competiton hands down. Our D-line still has some issues but faired better that what some expected.

I think that we are gonna be one of the brighter stories in the NFL this year. Nobody knows what is gonna happen. BUT I'd bet that all of us here on the best damn Skins site period is pretty optimistic at this point and time.

Its now time to dedicate the Season to Jon Jansen show all these other teams what the hell we are really made of :D

We did well and should not have lost that Panthers game.

Sean Taylor is a beast and both or lines look good. I love the way GW & Bosshog utilizes the talent we have. Clinton has shown little but at the same time impressed me. Simon is good and really I like the way all our backs have performed. The Rock seems to be lost at times though.

Lossing JJ is f********* bulls******** and he took a chunk out of my season. Overall grade: B-

final thoughts: glad its over. the jansen injury blows. i would rather have einished 0-5 than to lose a starter. but thats the way the cookie crumbles, and we'll just have to deal with it.

I think it was a standard Gibbs preseason with the one caveat that the players played harder in the three wins - I think due to them not only wanting to get on the team but for Gibbs' sake - so as not to embarrass him :)

Gibbs and his staff looked over every player. They know why they kept every guy they kept. That's normal pre-season.

Furthermore, he got a chance to return the team to the winning attitude.

They learned to know him and the coaches...no more Spurrier-ism.

I am less concerned about the state of our defensive line than I once was. I think the front 7 (as a group) will do very well this year. I'm a little concerned about our depth at the CB position, though. I'm not convinced that Jimoh should be on this team quite yet. If Gibbs & Co. see something that I didn't (sense the practices were closed), God bless them. I hope they made the right call.

Gibbs is as good as advertised...we are a much more disciplined team!! I think we had less penalties in the entire pre-season than we did in one game last year

I agree with JH. I'm not as concerned about the D-line as I was originally. I think that Williams has plans to compensate for the lack of a pass rushing threat by utilizing other players in different schemes. It should be interesting.

Did anyone see that one diagram during the Rams game where there were NINE people rushing the passer?
Sit back and watch the Redskins.

SOMETHING MAGICAL IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!
