Cason Claimed By Arizona

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Cason Claimed By Arizona

Post by Jake »

The Arizona Cardinals announced Wednesday that the team has been awarded its waiver claims on running back Aveion Cason and defensive tackle Shaun Smith. Both players were released by Dallas on Tuesday.

The team has also placed running back Marcel Shipp (leg) and fullback James Hodgins (shoulder) on the Injured Reserve List.

Cason (5-10, 204) played in 10 games last season for the Cowboys and rushed 40 times for 220 yards (5.5 average) with two touchdowns including a 63-yard score vs. Atlanta on opening day. He entered the league when he signed with the Rams in 2001 as undrafted rookie free agent out of Illinois State. He played in one game for the Rams and six for the Lions in 2001. In 2002, he started three of the 10 games in which he appeared with Detroit and was traded to Dallas on draft day of 2003.

The 6-2, 320-pound Smith signed with the Cowboys in May of 2003 as an undrafted rookie free agent from South Carolina. He was released by Dallas prior to the start of the regular season and spent all of 2003 on the team’s practice squad.

They must be trying to start the season with 53 players that weren't in their offseason program

Wait a second. Now they have Emmit Smith has their starter. Troy Hambrick as their back-up, and Avion Cason 3rd.

They are the cowboys from 2 years ago. Look how welll that turned out.

Looks like another losing season from the red birds. Too bad, I like Denny Green and all of their receivers

I guess the Pukes are happy with Eddie "3.3" George.
How many more sleeps until next season?
