Collinsworth

Post by Justice Hog »

I have always hated Chris Collinsworth in the announcers booth. How many times did he say tonight how much the Redskins will miss Champ Bailey?!?!?

Yes...Champ is a good CB....but.....you can't make such a stupid statement like that based on a preseason game!

Collins should wait until game #3 of the regular season before making such a statement IMO.

The guy was....is...and always will be an absolute idiot.

If you are talking about Collinsworth, I totally agree with you.

I honestly believe many of you on this site know more about football than that dope.

I'm not sure he even realized this was our 4th preseason game from the way he was talking.

He called Sean Taylor "the Eraser" which was kind of fitting... There I've said something positive about Chris so I kind relax, knowing I want hear anything else from him worth commenting on for about another 3 years

notice how it took him til the last 1:15 of the game to mention that we had missing players? how they couldn't quit mentioning it during the miami game and how many people they were missing?

Heck - we had second and third stringers playing against their first string offense in the first half and they didn't say anything about it.

Plus - blaming poor Fred - Sheesh - holt was finding pockets in the zone - Fred would release like he was supposed to and someone (Lott usually) would mess up and not come to cover his responsibility.

Lord, what one sided reporting.

The one thing said that bugged me was them referring to the Hogettes as "those guys that dress like hogs". The Hogettes do alot for our community and you'd think an announcer for a nationally televised game could do a little research before he opens his big yapper. Sorry I really dislike the guy. And that was just making it worse! ;-)

You know the man is a complete chump when he attacks fans. Collinsworth has always been a complete @ssh*le in my book. This would be a perfect "Talking Smack" topic. I'm amazed that Fox has held onto him for as long as they have and didn't axe this worthless piece of crap.

Last night I noticed everytime Collinsworth tried to get off some ignorant statement about us, the main announcer would shoot it down and give us props. No one wants to be labeled like that little beach collinworthless.

You know I did just that last year. I will probably do it for every other regular season game that ignorant announcer is assigned to a Skins game, unless someone beats me to it! ;-)

Those were some good comments in there. Yeah, I wouldn't be suprised seeing his name come up a lot this season. Some announcer's are ahole's just too to make a name for themselves like Jim Grey did with Pete Rose a couple years back. They try so hard to be like Cossell sometimes, and theyhave no clue what he did for football and other sports for that matter.

The FOX team does not have "good chemistry" between them. But I would not let that get to me.

The results are what count. Once the Skins begin to win, you will be surprised to see the number of "new" friends and admirers that Joe and our team will gain spontaneously!

Playing a solid game is what keeps these "geniuses" off our backs.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

Funny thing is Troy was close to signing with us just months after he retired. Aikmen has class, he was just on the wrong team.

As far as I know Troy hasn't ever badmouthed anyone while in the booth. There have been one or two rumors of him going off during commercial breaks, but those are pretty tough to prove.

I think Troy last year earned my respect for his contrary comments to Collinsworthless when CC was badmouthing us... he defended Ramsey and I think felt sorry for him where CC showed nothing but arrogance....

I wish that skinny runt had showed up at our camp... oh how I wish it

I just watched a bit of the game on Sunday. I heard Collinsworth and the first thing that ran through my head was "SHUT UP! That move was made in February. Get over it!"

10. You were one of the few to predict the Cowboys' rise to success last season. Who is your surprise pick for this season?

Chris Collinsworth wrote:
Expectations are high in Washington with the addition of RB Clinton Portis in the backfield.

I like the Washington Redskins and the Minnesota Vikings, though I'm not sure how much of a surprise that is. Like I mentioned last week, I think Joe Gibbs is one of the top coaches of all time. The offense, with Mark Brunell, Clinton Portis and assistant coach Joe Bugel, will be much better. Unlike the Redskins of a year ago, the quarterback will not get hit.

The defense, which didn't play well last year, will be much better despite the loss of Champ Bailey. Gregg Williams was the most sought-after defensive coordinator in the league this year, and Gibbs got him. Phillip Daniels, Cornelius Griffin and Marcus Washington will take a below-average front seven and create one that can stop the run and greatly increase the pressure on the quarterback.

My expectations for the Redskins probably are as high as the fans' are in Washington.

Me neither HS. And you know what, he will jump ship on our first loss I guarentee it. Of course the thing that pisses me off about what he said is that he couldn't leave his digs about last year out.
What a classless jerk!

He's off the bandwagon the 1st time we're behind at halftime.
He only made the above statement so he can refer to it later on this year
