Re: Redskins have 21 players with expiring contract
I'd like to see signing these guys as priority:
QB Kirk Cousins $778,172
NT Terrance Knighton $4 million
OLB Junior Galette $413,000 (to a VERY cap friendly deal.....)
P Tress Way $510,000
ILB Will Compton $510,000
ILB Mason Foster $481,764
ILB Keenan Robinson $765,027 (but I don't think Scot/Gruden agree with me on him)
RB Chris Thompson $585,000
There are still other players I'd like to see merely for potential depth who aren't real "priority" or are old, but wouldn't go out of my way to retain:
FB Darrel Young $1.5 million
CB Will Blackmon $550,588
OL Tom Compton $660,000
QB Colt McCoy $1.5 million
I LOVE Alf, but I think his market value will be more than he is worth.
QB Kirk Cousins $778,172

RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

Good list, like you I’m not sure about Robinson…Man what happened, he looked so promising last year, I expected big things from him this year with the new staff.
Don’t see the need to hang on to DY if you’re not going to use him?? I really like him, hope he catches on with a team that uses him.

Re: Redskins have 21 players with expiring contract
I thought that QB Robert Griffin III becomes a free agent on Feb. 8th, no?
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Just what I was thinking. Where the heck did he go? Especially with all the run blocking woes the team has been having. Did he get lazy and regress? Wtf.

I agree Cousins is the top priority. I don't know about pot roast, its hard to be excited about the Skins DL. Maybe he should be retained but I can't judge given how poorly the rush defense was this year. I don't know about Galette since he was injured and didn't play, is he going to be able to comeback and contribute? Definitely want Tress Way back after the first couple of weeks Way did a great job and I really like Chris Thompson.
I don't know about Alfred Morris. He's played well for the Skins but just don't know sometimes I think I'd rather have a back that was a better receiver. I definitely want Colt McCoy back if he wants to come back. Colt knows the offense and can run the offense. It would be nice to go forward with Cousin and McCoy and no drama. I'd sign Colt to a multi-year deal if he is interested. I don't know about the other guys on the list.
