Captain Kirk named NFC...

Post by cowboykillerzRGiii »

Captain Kirk was named Offensive Player of the MONTH!!! With his stellar performance the last 5/6 weeks! His stats are historical, at least for Redskins standards, over this stretch and have been a joy to watch!
I don't have time to copy nd paste the I credible stats, but here's the link- HTTCaptain!!!

Just an amazing season - I am so happy for he and his family

the Redskins' are really fortunate to have a guy that proved he could become an effective starting QB

well done Kirk Cousins - may the force continue to be with you this Sunday at FedEx field ...
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

That'd trully be.... Worth the wait!

To say the least! Haha, but Ya about as awesome as it gets at the most important position. He can't do it alone, look at GB- hopefully Scott continues to build a FIERCE squad that is more then relevant, but the team to beat for years to come!

I like THAT!!! Kirk may singlehandedly SAVE the name too... That's crazy!!

just imagine - if we had not made the trade for Griffin, Mike would not have drafted Cousins

I would also imagine that we'd still have Mike & Kyle here as well - Thank God for the stupid trade for Griffin

Here Ya go, to save y'all a click, and get back on topic... I'm sick to death of talking about the backup qbs here [-(

Kirk Cousins has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for December!!! (The award also includes Week 17 games contested in January)

In the team’s final five games in December and January, Cousins completed 111-of-151 passes (73.5 percent) for 1,379 yards with 13 touchdowns and only one interception for a passer rating of 127.3. In the final four games, Cousins helped guide the Redskins to a 4-0 record and an NFC East championship.

Cousins led the NFL in completion percentage (73.5), passer rating (127.3) and yards per attempt (9.13) through the final five games. He was the only quarterback in the NFL to post a passer rating of 100.0 or better in each of the final five weeks of the season.

The Player of the Month honor is the first of Cousins’ career. Members of the ‪#‎Redskins‬ have accounted for 13 Player of the Month awards all-time, including six Offensive Player of the Month honors.

Cousins joins Earnest Byner (December 1990), Gary Clark (November 1991), Terry Allen (October 1996), Todd Collins (December 2007) and Clinton Portis (October 2008) as the only players in team history to earn NFC Offensive Player of the Month. He is the first member of the Redskins on any side of the ball to earn NFC Player of the Month honors since linebacker London Fletcher in December 2012.

If we are going to talk about the 2012 draft I'll imagine a different scenario. The Skins took an OLM in round 1, Cousins on their next pick and have been making great picks the last three years in the first round. Cousins is starting for his fourth start year and the Skins are favored to win the NFC......

But I am grateful Shanny picked Kirk and DS somehow managed to hire JG and SM who recognized what they had Kirk and now building around him. I think the Skins are going to be the Big Dog in the NFC East for awhile.

As time passes, I find myself wanting to agree with this more and more. Hard to believe we got this lucky in landing him and giving him the opportunity he needed to show his All Pro potential.

(. . . but I'm also waiting for the other shoe to drop, so to speak. I've been trained for 20 years as a Redskins fan to expect that.)

I know what you mean. I'm somewhat expecting the Danny to fire Gruden after the season, because he wants to hire Coughlin.

I've said this for a long time, but I will have no regrets about that trade as long as we got a franchise QB out of the 2012 draft. I don't care if its Cousins or Griffin. We took two quarterbacks in the draft with no guarantee that either one would be a long term solution. IMO there's also no guarantee that Cousins would be in this position he is now if things had gone differently.

You guys all know the ridiculous QB history here the past 25 years and the insane number of quarterbacks we've had. I still can't blame the team for taking a gamble and going all in to finally get a quarterback.

Skins fans should know better than anyone to temper our expectations. When is the last time we followed up a playoff season with another good season?

Expectations will be higher next year. Our schedule will be tougher because of this year's success. I'm very hopeful, but it will take another solid year for Kirk to prove now that he's not just the Nick Foles of 2015.

I hear a lot of fans saying we should temper our expectations for Kirk. I for one do not think he's going to keep playing on fire (like he currently is) for the remainder of his career. I expect him to "come back down to earth" next season at some point. And guess what? We can still win with a back down to earth Kirk, IMO. And that's huge.

I think Kirk will be a consistent top 10 QB for 10 years barring a serious injury because while a gifted passer what sets him apart is his quick mind, like Tom Brady. Yes, I just compared Cousins to Brady and I am not backing off of it. The Skins aren't the Pats and I'm not saying Kirk is going have as much success as Brady but I am saying the quick processing power is what makes both of these guys effective.

Shanny was 100% correct about Cousins and so is Gruden which is why Gruden will be coaching the Skins next year.

I think the comparison is not inappropriate... but, it's not his quick mind (which he clearly possesses) that does it... it is his dedication to film study that makes him a lot like Brady. He is driven to understand his game, and that of his opponents.

Kirk Cousins needs to find out who made the decision to go in the wrong direction - that person cost Kirk a fortune because it gave Rodgers all he needed to score on 5 straight drives

STUPID call - we could have won this game
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

JUST AMAZING - we're up by 11 and I'm screaming at the TV - WHY ARE WE GOING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION

we lost the toss - someone made a critical call and it gave Aaron all he needed to get his confidence back

WE DID THAT NOT RODGERS - WE GAVE IT TO HIM
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance

Actually, based off of his current track record, he probably should.
