Assuming Morris, Jones, Thompson and Pierre Thomas are all healthy, which RB is inactive for the playoffs?

Are you sticking with one and two yard gains from Morris on first down? Maybe rolling the dice with Pierre Thomas instead?

I heard them talking about this on the 980 this morning.

They seem to speculate that it will be Jones due to his fumbling problem. And I don't agree with that at all.

That is a very tough one. I would give Thomas a bunch of carries against DAL and see how he does. If he stinks it up, I'd deactivate him. If he doesn't, I'd try to keep all 4 and either deactivate Young or only activate Reed at TE (and use Compton or Young if it can be done while allowing the offense to be less predictable).

I don't think Jones should be inactive, but do cringe everytime he runs with the ball. While you can see he has worked on running lower, his arms still become untucked when he thinks he has room to run. He needs to get away from that and learn to run with tucked arms in all situations.

Thompson. Don't need two of the same type of back and Thomas has playoff experience.

Pierre Thomas is 20+ lbs heavier than Thompson. Are they really the same type?

That's what I heard too. I don't think it was as much about the fumbling as some of the rookie mistakes where he missed protections or didn't know where he was supposed to be.

You need Thompson for the passing game, IMO.

Jones is more explosive at certain times, so I would activate him.

Then I'd make Morris and Thomas draw straws to see who gets deactivated.

3rd down receiving backs but Thomas is a far better blocker in pass protection. And he's not a bad receiver either, in case someone missed the game. He caught the same number of passes as Garcon for almost as many yards.

If healthy I’d play him, he is an upgrade over LeRibeus . I think Gruden has already said that he’d start him if he healthy.

2) What's the strategy for starters v. Dallas?

At this point we’re playing with house money, players are creatures of habit and you know they want to play. I’d play them at least a half, I think the reward/risk of playing them is greater than the reward/risk of sitting them.

3) Pierre Thomas and Chris Thompson have been doing pretty well the past two weeks. I heard it suggested that the team might possibly put Matt Jones on the IR for the playoffs. Any possibility?

Love Pierre, he is Morris with pass catching ability. I can't believe I'm saying this but if all were healthy I think I'd sit Morris??

4) Time to let RG3 go now to free up a needed roster spot?

No, I don't think we need the destraction that it would bring. You can only dress 45 anyway so I don't see the extra spot really being a necessity.

5) When the hell do playoff tickets go on sale?

Left over tickets go on sale next Monday.

See, I was wondering if anybody would come around to this. It would be a tough move, but Morris.... I just don't know. Those first down runs have been painful.

This is unbelievably awesome...

We are asking which one of our 4 running backs will be inactive for a playoff game. While I was never as doom and gloom as some experts (7-9 at best this year), I still think we were going to be a better all around team. Had no idea we'd be NFC East champs, though.

He carried the load in 08,09 and again in 13..but they've always had that other back...Bush, Ivory,Spores Ingram.

If I'm going off of the one game where we had Morris, Thomas, and Thompson- I give the job to Thomas and Thompson for his speed.

Alfred isn't fantastic any any one thing, he has been pretty good at all aspects- but his lack of speed and below great hands have him losing out to the other two.

Despite Jones' rookie mistakes, and fumble issues... The kid is a savage when cut lose. He is by far the best change of pace back, and even though Thompson is considered "faster" Jones has better vision and quickness IMO.

So I guess it'd be Thomas starting, Thompson spelling and 3rd down back... With Matt Jones (who?) Sprinkled in various run/pass situations.

I love AlMo, but it appears the system isn't a fit for more of our 2012 draft class then just RGiii

C00ley said yesterday that Jones has missed assignments over the past couple of weeks and he seems to think he'll be the one deactivated. The most amazing thing? Morris is actually averaging more yards per attempt than Jones.

Easily explanation is that he's another cog in the Shanahan ZBS... He won't be the first, nor the last. As great of a guy as he is, it's really sad. But it's not just him. Our TE's and receivers suck at blocking and we lost good interior linemen... So time will tell.

Yeah I'd been wondering about the ZBS stuff. There's no doubt that the injuries to Paulsen and Niles Paul have hurt the running game though too. Reed isn't a very good blocker and every time we bring Tom Compton out at TE, teams know we're going to run. Maybe Alex Smith will help.

I never considered him that. I've been on the Reed bandwagon since I first saw him play. I knew if he could shake off the injury bug and stop getting those concussions (that really scares me), that he'd be a top receiving TE in the league.

I agree. Just remembering where we were back in August. These were the headlines:

Niles has emerged as the starter. Jordan will play a lot in our three-receiver sets, one-tight-end set, obviously. Its not entirely crazy what he's saying. But just knowing how important Reed has been to the team this year, its a little disconcerting.

I agree. I thought everyone considered Reed the #1 as long as he was healthy. I still worry about Reed. I consider his health as important to this teams as Garcon was back in 2012.

Hopefully Smith can make the playing field... Je'Ron Hamm was waived to make room for CB Jermey Harris.
