SJ is still butt hurt at how wrong he has been all season and he wasn't able to see the potential in Cousins that many of us did throughout the year. There were others as well; some have eaten their crow (sort of) while others are not.

Oh -- and we beat them up and down the field last night. We controlled them on offense and DEF played strong as well. We didn't "find a way to win". We beat them playing our game.

Do I need to eat crow? I was hard on Kirk when he was playing like *sh$t*, and have been a pretty adamant supporter as he progresses. I never posted any "what would Griffin have done.." After a tough loss though. I did ask for equal criticism when he was floundering.. idk

Kirk is the motha fvckn MAN!!! He is looking like Breezy Brady (hell even Brady couldn't beat the Fecals like Kirk did!!) And is really maturing into a top ten qb. I was bitter about HOW, but never questioned why

Serve it up, medium rare, so we can move on!! I'll eat that mother gladly as I cheer for the squad during our playoff run and beyond!!!

I'm feeling fine - what's not to like after watching the eagles finding a way to lose so we can win the NFC East

we are a long way further down the road to respectability than we were at the beginning of this season - we have a GM in place that will continue to build this franchise - we have a QB to build around & a number of the assistants (especially Barry & Callahan) have done an incredible job

we are heading to the playoffs and I'm excited about what we may have in store here next season

the Griffin haters are still in place posting their BS and that means I'm also free to post whatever trash I feel like ....

it's all good
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Two Redskins have had four games in a season with multiple TD catches in Super Bowl era: Jordan Reed (2015) and Jerry Smith (1967).

Jerry Smith was the finest pass-catching TE in Redskin history, I would argue. That year, he led the team with 12 TD catches. Raise your hand if you think...no, if you are certain that Jerry Smith should be in the Hall of Fame. Remember the season when Charley Taylor, Bobby Mitchell, and Jerry Smith finished first, second, and fourth in receptions?

Yes I remember when everyone in the park knew the ball was going to Smith and still they could not stop the play. =D>

The thing that I appreciated was that they had the confidance in themselves to not make a mistake when early in the game they kept getting the ball very deep, 10yd line and less. Kirk kept his cool and didn't force things, he knew those field positions were temporary and to just play thru them.
I'd also like to give Garcon tons of credit, I think he is the forgotten beast in the squad with Djax returning and Reed being a monster on the loose. Garcon is a quiet professional but a beast on the field making impossible catches. Ever since that game where he served up a Cousins' pass for interception, Carolina? he seems to make Cousins look good.

The last 2-3 weeks, the Redskins/Jay Gruden have done everything that I was asking of them. I have no more room for complaint.

I felt that more could be squeezed out of this offense, they've delivered. That was the major crux of my anti-Gruden crusade. Thank you Jay.

Btw I heard C00ley say this AM he expects to find out more about what really happened on that play at the end of the first half. He thought either:

1) Cousins thought there was a neutral zone infraction and was getting a penalty. (He still should have spiked the ball not taken a knee)

or

2) LeRib snapped the ball too early. Which wouldn't be surprising at all but Cousins still should have spiked the ball.

Either way I think there's criticism to go around for all of those guys. Coming off a timeout, there shouldn't have been any confusion about the play. That's happened too frequently with the team this year, and that's on the coaches. Cousins obviously has to know to spike the ball. And you could probably argue that the team should have just kicked the FG in the first place. That one is debatable. I think most of us were pleased that the team was being aggressive there.

Will be interesting to hear more about it either way.

I don't blame Peters. The guy has played hurt for many games, he was clearly hobbled pretty badly in this game. He was ineffective and was being beat like a drum.

If the HC isn't smart enough to put a healthy body, then the player has to protect themselves. Fans want it both ways. They like to b*tch and moan about a player getting needlessly hurt, yet they b*tch and moan about a player preserving their long-term health/career.

I actually was referring to you as one who had eaten crow.

We have had some harsh back and forths, but I have always considered you a true fan of the skins --- just one that didn't see in Cousins what I did..... and more importantly (as the season went on -- not immediately), someone who is a bigger skins fan than an RGIII one.....

As far as the avatar --- I'd prefer if you kept it honestly. RGIII, IMHO, had one of the greatest seasons as a skins QB in the SB era. I don't dislike RGIII AT ALL. In fact, I was secretly hoping he would make a comeback --- however, I did see something in Cousins, even last year when he was tossing INTs. And because of that I said in the summer he should be our starter (especially after seeing RGIII's preseason efforts).

It is clear Cousins is a very good QB. He has climbed to 8th in yards, 1st in completion %, 13th in TDs, 10th in yards per attempt, and most importantly, 7th in QBR for the season. Dude is a top 10 QB in the NFL and trending UP.

In all honesty, I think people should be eating some OLDSCHOOL crow if anything. The dude was murdered on this forum about Cousins and he has ended up being correct. It was far worse than the lashing I took when I didn't think Campbell was a quality starter back in 2008. On a side note, there is a guy on extremeskins that calls himself "veryoldschool" and is also an enormous Cousins fan. This poster has now been getting props every which way. I wonder if they are the same dude with the same Cousins obsession...... :-k

Being in Houston I am surrounded by DAL fans. In fact, I have watched every WAS-DAL game with DAL fans for the past couple years.

That being said, they're all saying they actually WANT to lose the game for an elevated draft pick. As a fan of a team that is in this particular position quite frequently, I don't see that as the way to go, but everyone is talking about how they hope that is how the game pans out....... and my DAL fan friends are constantly saying how DAL needs to draft a replacement for Romo THIS draft....... I'm personally not sure about that only because there is nobody out there, but hey as a skins fan --- GO FOR IT!!!! Draft a QB in the first round!!!! Better yet, TRADE UP!!!

Just learn from the mistakes, that's what is important. The Pats somehow won the coin toss last night and gave the ball to the Jets in OT. Everybody makes a stupid play once in a while.

Honestly as much as I'm quick to defend the coaches, I'm more concerned about the confusion over the play at that time than Cousins making a mental mistake. We've seen that a few times this season coming off timeouts. Something they should clean up for sure.

I'll be happy to give OLDSCHOOL props on Cousins. But I will say he was insufferable while Griffin was the starter. I think the team and fans (myself included) were completely justified in wanting to give Robert a chance to develop and hoping that he would get it together. Calling for the #2 pick in the draft to be benched in year 2 just wasn't flying.

From what I've heard there are some good QB's coming out of college this year and given the current
state they are in? I agree that Romo's replacement does need to be the focus of this draft, because
he's 1 hit away from being a paraplegic the rest of his life and with no one to really replace him with
on the roster..Dallas can't afford to wait 10 more years before finally realizing they should have gotten
the future before things got the way they are (now)

at 4-12 they don't have to bet the farm and trade up to get the #1 overall pick
they can sit pretty at #4 or lower and wait to see what falls, If Lynch is there?
I say take him..he's been compared to Rothlisbeirger of Pittsburgh in the way
he plays..if not? then there are a few others I'm sure can help maybe not right
away but eventually the future while staying in the rat race could look much
brighter for them

Well, I think it depends. I was all in the RGIII camp until about 2013 week 10 or so --- when I started questioning whether RGIII could ever come back to 2012 form since there had clearly been no improvement from 2013 week 1 to week 10. I saw the same things Oldschool did re RGIII in 2013 --- I just was a little more diplomatic about it perhaps. This being said, I was a HUGE supporter until about that 2013 week 10 mark when I decided it was time to move on or at least find a plan B.

Also, I am glad you mentioned "develop" --- because, IMHO, what we have seen in Cousins is what REAL "development" looks like. It doesn't take "years" or "seasons" --- before you see anything (which is what many of the RGIII fans were saying circa 2013 and 2014). Development is something that you can CLEARLY see over the course of 1 single season. Cousins' improvement/development has been painfully clear and easy to see when taking the season in 3 game increments. Cousins is a VASTLY different player than he was in week 1 --- and he should be, because he SHOULD have developed. If he was the same guy as what we saw in week 1, I'd be all over for a change in QB at year end. But that is not the case. So, what I hope is TGN posters remember this and now understand that "development" -- when you have the opportunity/are the starter -- doesn't take seasonS; and that development can be CLEARLY seen. After 2013, we saw absolutely no improvement in RGIII --- which is why I was concerned and willing to move on to Cousins at that point. Then in 2014 we again saw no development from RGIII ---- yet people wanted him to start again in 2015.... to me, that was INSANE.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

Preston Smith was beating Peters like he stole his lunch money. Whatever the cause is Peters is making top five left tackle money, so if he's actually injured he shouldn't play and if he's actually capable of playing he shouldn't make excuses for quitting on his teammates, many of whom would probably also liked to have removed themselves from a meaningless game.
