Just listening to some of the radio guys this morning, and my head is kind of spinning with some of the questions the team has to think about in the next two weeks.
1) Lichtensteiger is practicing. Would you possibly start him over LeRib in the post season?
2) What's the strategy for starters v. Dallas?
3) Pierre Thomas and Chris Thompson have been doing pretty well the past two weeks. I heard it suggested that the team might possibly put Matt Jones on the IR for the playoffs. Any possibility?
4) Time to let RG3 go now to free up a needed roster spot?
5) When the hell do playoff tickets go on sale?
And one more from me:
6) Don't you like these questions better than: so who do you want the Skins to pick at #4 five months from now?

No, I'd maintain consistency with LeRibeus, for better or for worse.
I'd rest any starter who is either injured or whose risk of injury hurts the team, so basically backups should be playing.
Not sure about Jones on IR but Thomas needs to be on the post-season roster. He has that experience. Thompson does not. So, if it's one or the other ...
RGIII can't be cut before the end of the season because his remaining salary will count against the cap immediately.
Playoff tickets go one sale as soon as the NFL officially sets the schedule.
Yes.

I'd rest SOME starters, but I'd still play Kirk. Needs the reps, needs to stay "fresh", etc. I'd also like to see Kirk beat the Cowboys, just because the haters will still say, "but...but...he hasn't beaten the Cowboys!".
And yes, with ALL the injuries, Griffin would be cut yesterday.

you can't make it up ... you'd start a QB just because of some stupid fans (maybe 1 really) - you are a hater too
you'd cut or release Griffin no matter the cost to the franchise - that is even more stupid than your first suggestion
you are 1 of 2 or 3 here that make me realize how biased some fans can be that it blinds them to reality ...
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Wouldn't that be like one game check now though?

Thanks!!!

I do nothing special against the pies, normal starters start. They got there as a team and need to keep playing together as a team. They can't loose to the pies, it is a must win game. This is the stepping stone into the playoffs and deserves the very best effort with the best you've got.
I'm all for cutting RG3 if Scot agrees with the guys here that know everything - he's never going to play another down in the NFL and we could use the roster spot for the playoff run - we shall soon see

1) I think you start him versus the Pies, and see how he does. I don't want to break up the continuity on the O-line, but he has to be better than LeRib. I mean, the center not knowing the snap count, and hiking the ball all over the place is a recipe for disaster in a playoff game. 2) You rest certain starters. I think you give McCoy another crack at them in Tejas. 3) I don't think we need to put him on IR, but I'd definitely stay with Thomas as the third down back for the immediate future. 4) No. He's part of the team. Let him enjoy the playoff run. We don't need a roster spot that badly. 5) I'm sure the team will let you know. 6) Yes, I like that.

Good questions to ask. I'm wondering quite a bit about the Dallas game. Not sure what I'd do if I were Gruden, but I hope he knows the locker room well enough to do what's best for team morale, whether that means resting people or going all-out.
Deadskins wrote:4) No. He's part of the team. Let him enjoy the playoff run. We don't need a roster spot that badly.
Yeah its not the best reason, but I can respect that, seems legit. Probably wouldn't be a great PR move either way, and with so much good stuff going on with the team right now probably wouldn't be the story they'd want people talking about.
The only reason I mentioned it was because of Matt Jones. I was surprised to hear the suggestion that they might make an injury move with him because of Pierre Thomas. If there is truly a roster spot needed, that's a tough one.

We had 2 EXTRA tight ends inactive.. if we need a roster spot one of those cats can chill on the practice squad.
Cutting Griffin is unneeded drama- I like the post suggesting we keep him for the PLAYOFFS as he IS part of this team. He has been a class act street clothed qb, always up for his guys, and that's nice to see. As much as the team, and well everyone LIKES THAT Kirk is the starter... I don't think the squad hates Robert. Let him enjoy the run, and get him a nice ring to show off at his next city!!

Are practice squad rules any different in the playoffs? I'm guessing they'll need a spot for Lichtensteiger too.

Its a great point. I completely agree.

Yeah I'd be worried about screwing up whatever chemistry the line has put together so far. But LeRib has definitely been a weak link at times. I don't think you can start Licht v. the Cowboys though. He can't play in any games until the postseason.

letting Griffin go at this time would be a low class, hateful thing to do - I doubt the FO will want to do the wrong thing here
sorry to disappoint the haters but that is just not happening

I agree with this in theory, but with the injuries to this team, just keeping him on the roster just because it's a nice thing to do seems kind of silly to me. If we need the roster spot, I have no qualms about cutting him.

Its not about hating. Its a legitimate question about the roster, and do we have spots for the guys we need to play in the playoffs.
Get over it.

OK - we'll see - I just don't see that happening here with this FO
btw - I hope that RG3 is on the roster for the final game this season - just to spite those here that hate him

Yes because he'll be in street clothes for the 15th out of 16 games, somehow that'll show the "haters". I couldn't care less if Griffin was cut to make room for a spot, and I couldn't care less if he's on the team for the rest of the season.
I have faith that Scot & the FO will do what's best for the team ... but I'd really like it if RG3 was here if only to spite the haters
I'm really hoping that he is playing well in 2016 - that would be even better - we'd have weekly updates ....

oj wrote:Griffin was part of getting us here, you dance with those that brung ya to the dance. He stays.
What?
Yeah, I don't get that.
However, I agree with cowboykillerzrgiii and the rest. We don't need the drama of cutting RGIII right now. That would redirect ALL the media attention to something that is utterly irrelevant --- at a time when this team needs to be as focused as ever. Besides, he's never on the 45-man active roster anyway; we've got 7 other guys we can move around. To the point I am ADAMANTLY against cutting RGIII until after the season has ended.
So, here's another controversial one for you. (And SJ, please note this is completely wild speculation.)
Assuming Morris, Jones, Thompson and Pierre Thomas are all healthy, which RB is inactive for the playoffs?
Are you sticking with one and two yard gains from Morris on first down? Maybe rolling the dice with Pierre Thomas instead?

Thompson. Don't need two of the same type of back and Thomas has playoff experience.
