(Is this OUR Jake?? The lad whose avatar pictured a young boy riding the shoulders of a Redskin lineman during training camp? If yes, WELL DONE, JAKE...and Terri, too!)
"When the NFL draft begins on April 30 in Chicago, the Redskins will have likely already made their first wave of roster upgrades through free agency. With seven wins over the last two seasons, there’s a lot of upgrading to be done. The Redskins’ needs include defensive linemen, safety, cornerback, linebacker, right tackle and both offensive guard positions."

Story mentions Jon Jansen, of course.

Regarding Scherff: Joe Gibbs always said that the OL is the engine of the offense; same with the DL. Gibbs started four different QB's and four different RB's in NFC championship games. Jeff Bostic and Joe Jacoby started all four, and Russ Grimm started three and backed up the fourth. In 2007, I watched the new Redskin OL pound the Giants into the Giants Stadium turf and sleet. Convinced me that power, not a "franchise QB" wins in the NFL...no matter what ESPN announcers might blabber.
Good pick and good start for the new GM.

Interesting that arguably the best OL in Skins history wasn't mentioned in the article...of course he wasn't drafted.
