You realize that BO played 47 of his first 48 games in the NFL, right? And that he has played 15 games or more per year in 4 of his 6 seasons.

Man, judging from your response, I'd love to hear your opinion on RGIII's injury history........

Thank you, thank you, thank you!. I can't remember how many times I've had to remind people on this board of what you've just posted. Orakpo only became injury prone last year.
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

Only if he develops other moves that make the holds more obvious. Getting a lot of those calls is about changing direction or position, so that the armful of neck is obvious... Or the fist full of shoulder pad is clear. That is PART of the problem with being a one-move, outside-pass-rusher.

I agree with you about his need to add moves, but a hold is a hold, and I saw way too many that went uncalled when it was one of our players getting held. I'm not so sure it's all on BO's lack of moves.

There is an art to drawing holding penalties, just as there is an art to drawing teams off sides, and to getting PI penalties called... Rak could have doubled the number of calls, had he made the holds obvious... instead, he tended to simply try to push through them... that simply doesn't draw enough attention from the refs. I'm sure that I ranted about the "no-calls" as much as anyone... hey, it sucks... but it is what it is.

Orackpo and Kerrigan were supposed to be our Dynamic Duo, and Orakpo just hasnt lived up to that, while Kerrigan has been one of of best left side OLBs in the league the last 3 years.

Also the injury concern with Orakpo is he injured the same thing 3 times now... his pectoral which with him using strength solely as a means to rush really causes big concern.

He may be back though, skins are in the hunt for him still... I would be willing to sign him for a 5 year 30 million deal or so but with only the first 2 years garunteed.

The only reason is because we have a new strength coach that with his style of training would benefit orakpo, and orakpo himself said he has completely changed his ttraining after the injury to more stretching and movement based rather than pure strength. Plus with new defensive staff that will likely coach him on technique, he could finally get that potential out.

A long term deal with short commitment is a win/win for us. We can really try to get the most out of a player that has the potential to be great... if he flops you cut bait after year 2 with no cap hit, if he does what he is capable of, we have him locked in for 5 years at a steal of a price.

Yeah I was thinking about it this morning as we've start to get a little further into free agency. I don't expect that we're going to get Rak "on the cheap". But at some point, I'd be just as happy to see the team pay a reasonable contract to bring Orakpo back as I would to see them pay the same amount to bring in Knighton or another more expensive free agent.

Sometimes we as fans get focused too much on just getting somebody "new". Its interesting to look at twitter this morning and see all of these Titans, Cardinals, Lions, Steelers, etc; fans hoping their teams sign Rak.

I still think Orakpo is one of the best rush OLBs in the league when healthy. Hopefully the Titans sign him.

We need to sign orakpo and morgan today! Then hold out and make chip send sproles Bradford and pics to us #Titans

All I want for christmasss is Orakpo!!! (And Derrick Morgan to re-sign)

#Raiders fans... Would u take a run at Orakpo? With some clauses in contract if he gets hurt. Imagine our LB core. Would be deadly

Titans are so screwed if they don't sign Orakpo and Morgan

They aren't suffering from this weird PTSD that causes them to think Orakpo stinks and hasn't been durable for all of his 6 year career save the last two, like we are.

lol. Skins fans being way too pessimistic about Rak. Fans of other teams being way too optimistic about him.

Orakpo isn't what we all wanted but he is still a good player. I would offer him somewhere between 4-5 mil on short deal.

To me he is the best pass rusher available outside of Greg Hardy and better than the draft prospects at least in the short term.

Yeah, I agree. He ranks fifth all time in sacks for the Redskins, but I get why fans including myself have been disappointed by him at times. I think most teams would take him over Greg Hardy since he doesn't have a history of sexual assualt. :)

We still need players, more holes than we're going to fill in the draft. I'd just rather see us keep a good, homegrown guy like Rak than pay for three or four Tracy Porter types.

Right! I'm all about upgrading. If we can't upgrade then we might as well keep the player, however I have a feeling he wants too much so in that case you might as well let him go.
