I found this pretty neat. The Smeagles didn't get very much for what we gave them for Mcdrabb, but the pick we got from the Vikes SCORED!!!!

Good read from Schefty about how Mcnabb deal has impacted us

Me too. Sanchez is a waste, but if anyone really thought he was going to have a "break out" season this year they were crazy. He is, at his very best, a "game manager" QB. That was OBVIOUS from his rookie season. It also didn't hurt that he was SERIOUSLY coddled the NYJ organization. I remember watching HBO hard knocks and thinking to myself how much he acted like an immature child, totally lacked any sort of competitive nature, and was not being held accountable for anything by the organization. I don't know his background, but I personally believe it appears as if Sanchez has been "managed" his entire life ---- because he doesn't exactly know how to come back from mistakes; instead he just gets down unable to reach down and fight back.ACW wrote:Good piece. A side note that got my attention: Brady and Sanchez making the same amount this season
In this league, great teams have playmaker QBs (and for the record Eli Manning WAS a "playmaking" QB IN THE PLAYOFFS -- especially last season; IMHO one of the best). I was SO happy we didn't end up trading up for Sanchez, because at that time we had Campbell and I was willing to try anything to get rid of him.
With regards to what Philly got, they actually did get some value from that trade in (2nd rd) Allen, (4th rd) Matthews, and (trade from 4th rd selection) Ryans; THAT SAID:
Morris > (Allen + Matthews + Ryan)
So, all in all we ended up making out on the deal, but it was more because of our FO than anything else.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

Ummm... are you saying "our FO did an outstanding job managing the fall out of the McNabb trade, but, it was more because of our FO than anything else"?
To that, I say... HUH???

hah. That is AWESOME. Can't get back the year we wasted with McNabb, but amazing to know that Minnesota pick ended up being Alfred Morris.
