All they're saying is knee. Early indications are he's done. Getting MRI tomorrowfrankcal20 wrote:I wasn't home yet from a birthday party. What exactly was Carriker's injury?

It doesn't look good......
Redskins DE Adam Carriker needs knee surgery
DE Adam Carriker is expected to undergo surgery after seriously injuring his knee in the Redskins' Week 2 loss to the Rams.
Carriker went down on the second play of the game and never returned. He'll have an MRI on Monday, but the Redskins are not optimistic. "It doesn't look good," coach Mike Shanahan said. The 'Skins also lost OLB Brian Orakpo to another pectoral injury, leaving a gaping hole in their pass-rushing stable. It's good news for their Week 3 opponent, the Bengals.

Yeah, I think he's been great and consistent ever since getting here.cvillehog wrote:Bummed about Carriker. He was an underrated part of that d-line.
Orakpo's loss puts a lot of pressure on Kerrigan, and he hasn't really come out of the blocks yet this season (pardon the pun!).
I like Jackson though, he's tight on run defense and a solid LB but not the blitzing threat that Orakpo is.
In Scot We Trust!
Orakpo was about to have a huge game, a sack and forced fumble early and I think he would have terrorized them all day. Off topic a bit but i'm not sure why they didn't move Kerrigan to that side after Rak went out, at least I Didn't see it happen if it did. Anyways, really bummed about Adam..I agree he's been super consistent and is underrated, they obliterated his side of the line after he left in the run game. I also don't understand why Golston was the replacement instead of Jenkins unless he's just not healthy yet.

Well, I guess that pretty much puts a wrap on the season now, doesn't it? We've got a Defensive Backfield that most high school kids could have a field-day throwing against and now two of our major pass-rushers are gone for the season. Combine that with a Defensive Coordinator who's got his head firmly entrenched between his butt cheeks and this Defense is pretty much toast.

Yes indeed. You can hand in your Redskins cap now. The world has come to an end.Redskins_Fanatic wrote:Well, I guess that pretty much puts a wrap on the season now, doesn't it? Didn't he leave, saying he would never return almost a year ago? I just can't amagine he took his Redskins cap with him back then.UK Skins Fan wrote:Yes indeed. You can hand in your Redskins cap now. Were we wining the Super Bowl this year with a rookie QB? No. Was this season always about watching our young franchise QB develop and hopefully be in line for Super Bowl runs 2-3 years from now? Yes. It is a shame about Rak and Adam but their injuries do not change the above statements one bit.

Leaving aside the fact that every season should be about winning as many games as possible rather than the development of one single player (no matter how promising), you're taking the view that RGIII's development can't be impacted at all by the performance of the rest of the team?cleg wrote:Were we wining the Super Bowl this year with a rookie QB? A solid defence would surely be a great help in allowing RGIII to develop rather than playing catch up games every week, desperately trying to keep pace with the opposition whilst the defence performs like a limp lettuce.
Of course, a solid rebuttal to that argument would be that Peyton Manning and Troy Aikman developed very nicely whilst playing their rookie seasons on abysmal teams and getting knocked all over the field. But they are exceptions to the rule - which RGIII may also prove to be over time.
