Brees signs 5 year deal with Saints

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/eye-o ... -100m-deal

good for both the Saints and Brees - this had to get done
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Wow! That makes the Albert Haynesworth deal look cheap.

No one is worth $40 million for one season. That's a third of the cap.

As with the value of a house, the value of a player is whatever some team is willing to pay for him.
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

Usually I'm against paying these guys all that money but winning a SB is priceless bro and he's proven himself one of the most elite QBs out there. Obviously this couldn't be done if they didn't have a good offense already established though.

I totally understand your points, but there is no other team out there that would pay that much for just one player. I agree that Brees is in the top three QBs in the league, but I still don't think he's worth $40 million for one season. That's insane. They must be able to afford it, though. Maybe the bounty suspensions cleared up some cap space.
