you're right - there are a few posters who I just skip over as well - they just don't seem capable of adding anything to the thread :P

maybe like some of the guys at OTAs this week - they'll be gone soon
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

The last week of OTAs started today.... June 4-7

Minicamp will be from June 11 to June 14
thanks - for the record - what's the difference between OTAs & Minicamp?

thankfully it's June already
The only difference is Mini Camp is mandatory and OTAs are not.
Mini Camps are part of Phase Three of the offseason program which covers OTAs.
(iii) Phase Three. Phase Three shall consist of the next four weeks of the Club's offseason workout program ... during Phase Three each Club may conduct a total of ten days of organized team practice activity ("OTAs" or "OTA days") ... The Club may conduct a maximum of three days of OTAs during each of the first two weeks of Phase Three.

A maximum of four days of OTAs may be conducted during either the third week or the fourth week of Phase Three, with the Mandatory Veteran Minicamp (Article 22, Section 2) to be held during the other week. During weeks in which the Club conducts only three days of OTAs, the Club may also conduct a fourth day of non-OTA workouts ... During Phase Three, all coaches shall be allowed on the field.

No live contact is permitted. No one-on-one offense vs. defense drills are permitted (i.e., no offensive linemen vs. defensive linemen pass rush or pass protection drills, no wide receivers vs.defensive backs bump-and-run drills, and no one-on-one special teams drills involving both offense and defense are permitted). Special teams drills (e.g., kicking team vs. return team) are permitted, provided no live contact occurs. Team offense vs. team defense drills, including all drills listed in Appendix G to this Agreement, are permitted, provided no live contact occurs. Clubs may require players to wear helmets; no shells are permit ted during Phase Three of the Club's offseason workout program or any minicamp.

In terms of him doing what the customers want -- I wish that were true. For over a decade he has traded away picks for aging vets for huge contracts. I think that Snyder does what he wants while grossly lacking the football mind to do it -- and that is why we are in this mess.

As far as this offseason being similar to last years -- I don't agree. RGIII was drafted. Sure they traded picks away, but at least it was for picks and not aging vets as in the past. I can understand the similarity in that he traded away picks for something, but this is a very unique situation in that RGIII may very well be a franchise QB. Would you trade away 2 firsts and a second for a 23 year old Tom Brady???? I think everyone would -- and the skins are willing to trade it for the chance at that. It's a risk, but so is almost every pick in the draft. Do I think that they spent too much -- right now I do BUT if he works out as planned, it will be the steal of the draft.

As far as the whole next exciting thing -- that is WAY off. If he were to do that he wouldn't have drafted a rookie, a rookie that needs to be trained and will take time to develop. He would have gone out and gotten big name vet and not a rookie. Say what you want, but I honestly don't think our FO is being run by Snyder right now. I believe trade was completed by Allen and MS.

I consider myself a fairly big pessimist compared to most on this board, but you are at a whole different level. You're just a troll.

It's unfortunete but accurate. For example, the poster gives me 5 articles -- all of which come from the same verifiably inaccurate source. A source which has neither connections nor relationships with either organization. Additionally, the articles predate the one I provided (which have FIRST PERSON quotes). If the quote by Russell were remotely accurate Peyton wouldn't have gone to Denver (because it's cold), would have inevitably ended up in Miami (because that is where the "source" states his intentions are), and he wouldn't have met with MS in Denver 3 weeks after all of these articles were "published" (because MS wouldn't have wanted to waste his time).

Like I said, it's difficult not to unload on all the inaccuracies and unverifiable retorts; I'm just doing the best I can to ignore the noise.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

Wow. Just thought there were some great notes here from Rich Tandler's blog on today's OTA. I love the first one about Hightower. Great to hear! Not so happy to hear that Rex is still Rex...

http://www.realredskins.com/rich-tandle ... -play.html
Hightower is taking some handoffs and running and doing some cutting. He probably couldn't suit up today but he is looking pretty spry.

Hankerson running some patterns. Not quite in sync with RG3 on a few throws.

RG3 is occasionally double clutching, like he isn’t quite sure of what he’s seeing from the defense.

Hankerson was a spectator during 11 on 11.

Practice was stopped briefly after there were issues like jumping offside a few times in the course of several plays. All of the players huddled up in the middle of the field with Shanahan in the middle.

Rex heaved a wounded duck to Niles Paul, who was open down the sideline. Paul made the catch but a starting NFL defensive back would have knocked it down or picked it off.

With Graham Gano’s recovery from a back injury coming along well, the kicking duel started in earnest. Neil Rackers gets great height on his field goal attempts and it appears that Gano’s travel farther.

Kirk Cousins is showing some arm with a laser to a tight end over the middle.

If Rex does have to come in and play, the playbook will have to be tweaked substantially. He never looked very fast rolling out but after watching RG3 on the move and the watching him, well, they’re not on the same planet.

Have to say that with 90 players a lot of them do a lot of watching. Hard for a guy like Lance Lewis to get a good shot when he is spending so much time on the sideline.

NT Chris Baker shouts an expletive after missing a play. Again, guys like him get so few chances that one mistake can do substantial damage.

We get good Rex/bad Rex in practice, too. He had some great touch on a fade that dropped right into Paul’s arms in the end zone.

Who cares about hang time on a FG attempt?

I'm no expert on field goal kicking, but isn't height also associated with avoiding blocks?

Accuracy is paramount for FGs

height/hang time plus accuracy would be good on kickoffs

I just love that we're having competition at this position - hopefully we get a better kicker out of it

Maybe in the first 6 feet. After that, it only has to clear the crossbar. I'll take the kicker who can kick the ball farther over one who kicks it higher.
