Top Tight End Tandems

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Top Tight End Tandems

Post by DarthMonk »

I think we'd have to say the best tandem is Gronkowski/Hernandez.

Who's next? Could it possibly be Davis/Cooley?

Yes, weed and health are issues but still, could they possibly be next? Who else is in the discussion?

Will we run more 2-TE sets like I thought we would last year?

If he's healthy, I'd put our two up against anybody.

He's reportedly on pace to be ready for OTAs, but haven't heard a lot from or about him lately. Was on 106.7 a few weeks ago and said he's good to go.

As far as Tight End tandums, Davis and Cooley is still a unknown. When healthy Cooley played and Davis barely got on the field. Once Davis got playing time Cooley was not option....

I can see a lot of 2 TE sets this year since they'll have a real QB and three or four #2 WR until Hankerson shows something. I can see both Davis and Cooley having good years, they'll both be free agents next season so I wouldn't be surprised if they added someone.

When they wre both healthy, the coaches couldn't get them both on the field. That's a shame.

Yes. Really seems like a formation we ought to use more. Can teams really cover both of those guys with linebackers? If not then we either complete a lot of passes to the TE against backers or run well if they use DBs. Two TEs, two WRs, Helu, and RGIII seems pretty scary to me. That's a lot of speed and flexibility in run, pass, and pass protection.

 the 2 best TEs are a drug free Davis & hopefully a revitalized Cooley - so I'd say no
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Why not? Morgan and Garcon won't be lining up at TE.

You're right -

I do expect there's a chance we'll see Morgan & Garcon at WR - I doubt we'll see either at TE

this thread was about the TE combo - hence my

I could have clarified that but I'm a little
