Haha well I'm glad you enjoyed it. I don't know, I just think the whole HEY YOU'RE BRIAN ORAKPO BLAH BLAH like nobody knows who he is (I'm sure a lot of people don't know who he is) is kind of annoying. The caveman in a cheerleader outfit is odd. To each his owntribeofjudah wrote:Caveman in cheer outfit....ya don't like...??? It's funny to me.
perhaps you don't like cavemen or cheerleaders....?

It makes some sense, in that GEICO is a DC based corporation... why wouldn't they see him as a national sports figure... though, frankly, I think it's not their best effort. It seems like they stumbled onto an endorsement deal with Orakpo, then said... "hey... anybody know what we can do with this guy?" I didn't much care for it.

I actually feel the same way, it looks like they did one cut and bam, commercial.Countertrey wrote:It makes some sense, in that GEICO is a DC based corporation... why wouldn't they see him as a national sports figure... though, frankly, I think it's not their best effort. And low production value. I'm guessing GEICO made it only for the DC market, and I wouldn't be surprised if there are a bunch of others in other markets. The spot was produced by DCP Productions in Baltimore for The Martin Agency in Richmond (who does all of GEICO's ad work). GEICO is headquartered in Stafford, Va. They usually have two or three campaigns going at once (caveman + gecko, gecko + googly-eyed money, etc.). This spot is part of a campaign that takes the form of "You know what else is _____?" that's generally pretty low-fi looking. There's one with a fisherman and a mermaid that's even more lame than this one.
You can see DCP's work here: http://www.dcpproductions.net/work/. There's a lot of GEICO stuff. If you look on Martin's website, you'll recognize most if not all of the work: http://www.martinagency.com/ (I have to say, the Discover Card Peggy spots are some of my favorites).

No? I kinda dig her. . . HUMOR. I kind of dig her humor. I chuckle at her commercials. Moreso than the caveman campaign, at this point.ATX_Skins wrote:At least they don't have Flo the Progressive girl, I cannot stand that chick.markshark84 wrote:Me too. Really, because I've always hated her. Not as much as Jared from subway though. He was the worst.emoses14 wrote:No? I kinda dig her. . . HUMOR. I kind of dig her humor. I chuckle at her commercials. You and I are in agreement on Jared from Subway. Always thought the Verizon "Can you hear me now?" guy was like his first cousin. Also rounding out my top 5 or so all time hate list: the FreeCreditReport.Com band, the ShamWow guy, the Real Men of Genius, Stephen L. Miles and the E-Trade Baby.ATX_Skins wrote:Really, because I've always hated her. Not as much as Jared from subway though. He was the worst.emoses14 wrote:No? I kinda dig her. . . HUMOR. The FreeCreditReport.com (now FreeCreditScore.com) ads are by the same ad agency as the Caveman ones...emoses14 wrote:You and I are in agreement on Jared from Subway.
