downside of the lockout. Can't get in football shape if you're not playing football.

Sounds a little like Arrington's injury. Sure hope not!

It's all part of the fallout from the lockout, sadly. This is going to happen a LOT. We should all be prepared for a long and frustrating season - the rookies and, to a lesser extent, the recent free agent signings, are all going to have a tough time getting up to speed with the playbook this season.

And while players try to get into "football shape", I expect hamstrings, knees and ankles to be torn, hyper-extended, tweaked, twisted and bent.

Sad but true.

That's part of the reason why the camp rosters were increased to 90

Welcome to the 2011-12 NFL season folks... by week 9 half of the starters on opening day will be out with injuries. This is what happens when these guys are allowed to sit around for six months without someone riding rein on their asses to keep them in shape. Expect it to only get WORSE as training camp and the season progress.

All true, but remember the other teams are going to have the same issue

And it affects ALL teams across the board.

I think what makes it worse for the Redskins though, is the large turnover of players we have from last year. A lot of new players need to be brought up to speed in a short space of time if this team is going to compete from week one.
