5 Reasons to Believe in John Beck

Good stuff by the bleacher report.

On paper John Beck looks like a career backup type, but there are a lot of guys who have talent, but never got their big shot. We've seen guys like Todd Collins, Damon Huard, etc who come in and lead their teams to victories because they were thrown into action. Hopefully we see a lot from him in camp.

Todd Collins is a good example of what an average QB can do in an offense that he knows and is comfortable with. Beck doesn't have even close to the years that Todd had in Sander,s offense, but if Beck is a fit for this offense, he will surprise a lot of folks.

I give Beck high marks for showing a ton of confidence and enthusiasm. But the truth is he is only going to be as good as our offensive line. If they can improve the line and get a running game going, I would not be surprised at all if Beck was a solid QB for us.

He looks ok to me as long as he cuts down on the mistakes. He's mobile, has a big arm and has good awareness

I said this in another thread, while I like Beck's attitude and potential, I'm not jumping on any bandwagon until he earns something. He hasn't actually DONE anything yet. It's good to hope he can develop into a good NFL QB, but if Grossman looks even 10% better than Beck in training camp, then my vote will be with Grossman, or any other QB that performs best, for that matter.
