I'm more upset with what this says about the new regime than I am about the move itself.

My thoughts exactly.

I'm agreeing with you also.

Do you think Shanahan/Allen just being at Redskins Park, even in the short time that they've been here, was still enough exposure to catch Snyderitis?

Wait till April 23rd, if McNabb is still a Redskin then judge.

If he is our 2010 starter...one question...

Would you like some T.O. sauce with your McNeezy Nuggets?

None for me thanks...

Frankly, he BETTER be our starter. As far as TO goes, hell no! TO has issues. I haven't heard of any of McNabb's. This is a GREAT move people! Get onboard!!!!

I think this is a horrible move. I do think McNabb is still a very good QB, much better than Campbell. But if anybody thinks this wins us the division, or dare I say the superbowl...your crazy! This draft has a ton of very good OLine. We need a complete revamping of our line with Dock being the possible exception if we want to get back to the superbowl.... McNabb does absolutely nothing for us with regards to winning a superbowl. Nothing at all...

Please let there be more to this than meets the eye!

Anybody who saw the Eagles play the Raiders last year should be pretty familiar with how great McNabb is under pressure. Or either of the last two games against the Cowboys.

What this trade says, ultimately, is that Skins fans are going to see a lot more of Rex Grossman than they counted on.

This just continues to show how backwards the management of our team is. The Eagles will now have players that are 26 or younger starting at qb, rb, wr (2), and tight end. Instead of trying to get younger and actually build something, we sign over-the-hill running backs and burn two valuable draft picks for a qb that will be 34 next season.

mosely thinks either the raiders or bills give us their #2 for campbell. If that happens, I like this trade a little more...

I don't think so.... Shanny wants a proven NFL winner instead of a rook.

I'm starting to think that Shanahan doesn't have the patience to go through a proper rebuilding, which is really bad news for us.

Dude i totally agree! Hes for sure the WORST hall of famer i've ever seen.

Hands down.

'course, winning a Superbowl would greately enhance his chances...

Seriously, do you think the Eagles would trade McNabb to the Skins if he had ANYTHING left? Never. I can only think of one scenario where the Eagles would make this trade ...if they knew they he was finished and the Skins overpaid...big time.

As for being a HOFer...I can't think of a worse HOF QB. He spent the majority of career making it on the backs of Westbrook who during McNabb's best years was the best player in the League in my opinon...and they had as good if not better records when he was injured. BTW, Koy Detmer, Jay Feeley and Jeff Garcia (a combined 10-2 during McNabb's best years and while he was on IR) are still available also. He was and is a system QB, where the gameplan was masterminded by one of the best X's and O's guys in the game, Andy Reid, who got mismatches on players and got his best players into space (Staley, Westbrook, TO, Lewis, Celek). I've seen some of the worst throws I've ever seen in a game come out of the hands of Donny.

If picking up an over the hill past Super Bowl QB was our goal, we've already got Grossman and Delhomme was available for much less. I just don't see how this makes us better. Anybody can throw the 5 yd dump off routes that McNabb has made his HOF career on.

Also, this is basically a 1 yr deal stop gap. Didn't we just illustrate this not working with Jason Taylor. And this is the hardest position to play in pro sports, bar none.

Way I see it, our QB options were as follows:-

1. Get lucky and have Bradford drop to #4, then hope his arm dont fall off at the first big hit.

2. get stupid and trade up to take Bradford at #1

3. draft Clausen or mcCoy and hope the 'issues' attached to those 2 arent really issues.

4. Draft Tebow and maybe sell a few bibles in the parking lot

5. Have another loser year with Campbell

6. Start one of the other guys

or ..

trade for a likely future HOF pro-Bowl QB who is certain to be up for the Eagles games next season and who has shown that he can lead his team to the playoffs and beyond.

This will prove to be the best move for the Redskins in the past 15 years. Mcnabb has at least four years left in the tank. We will start to contend immediately.
Now we can focus on getting a LT. I highly doubt we pick up Bradford. However we have three high profile Rbs.

Forget about Bradford people! We now have a proven winner. We also have some young weapons for Donovan to use. Welcome aboard D Mac you are now a Skin. To the SuperBowl baby! WOOOO! :D

Report: 'Skins offered Eagles Haynesworth

A lot to get to, but I wanted to get this post up quickly.

Adam Caplan of Scout.com just unloaded an interesting nugget during a TV appearance on CSN.

Per Caplan, the Redskins offered defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth to the Eagles as part of the Donovan McNabb deal, but the Birds didn't want him.

"The Redskins actually offered - I'm told by two league sources - Albert Haynesworth, the oustanding defensive tackle, but Albert Haynesworth has an enormous contract," Caplan said, adding that Haynesworth was a pain to the Redskins' previous coaching staff.

Haynesworth, who will turn 29 in June, signed a $100M contract last offseason with the Redskins, which included $41M in guaranteed money. He received - get this - a $21M roster bonus on April 1. His 2010 and 2011 salaries of $3.6M and $5.4M are guaranteed, according to contract details.

The Eagles have two good defensive tackles in Mike Patterson and Brodrick Bunkley, but neither guy was on the field on third downs last season, and neither has shown the ability to pressure the quarterback up the middle.

Haynesworth had a disappointing debut season with the Redskins, but the thought of him teaming up with Trent Cole deserves at least a moment of thought amid all the other things that are being discussed this evening.

Much more to come.

Great move because despite what many may think that is a move to dump an over the hill QB, McNabb still has at minimum 2-3 years left in him before he starts to decline.

Andy Reid did "his guy" a favor. He got, IMO, raked by Philly fans because it's not his fault they gave up points and lost. So what he throw up in the Super Bowl, he at least got there.

Dude is not done by any means and as long as Shanny and Allen surround him with the right pieces and put a fire under these guy's butts, this is a great move.
