How many NEW fans will jump....

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

How many NEW fans will jump....

Post by tribeofjudah »

....on the SAINTS bandwagon? I mean, come on! New Saints fans are coming out of the woodwork.

I've always rooted for the underdog and I like that the Saints won....but I'm not switching team. People, get a grip....!

Tell me about it. Where I live they are coming out. When I was at work the other day I thought that maybe I was in New Orleans.

I live in Laker land and it happens every championship season. Same thing when the Angels won the World Series.

I will really be mad when the Redskins win a SuperBowl and the bandwagoners come out of the woodwork. We have endured so much you earn this Redskins fan badge baby or you are born into it!

Just quiz bandwagoners with name the starting lineup or name some hall of famers. If they pass then they get the respect.

A lot of people don't really have a 'team' like we rabid fans do. I got a guy at work who likes football, but doesn't really have a team. He liked the Saints b/c they were kickin ass, and then when they started to falter and the Jets stepped up, he changed teams (joking but not really). It's natural.

This happens in every sport and in every time. Must be human nature, I guess.

I'd rather have bandwagon Saints "fans" all around compared to what I had in school back in the 90s: a ton of Dallas bandwagoners.

I can dig that. You gave me a different look at these bandwagoners. Ok, I will withdraw my judgements. Good point Vet. :D

Oh, don't think for a second that he doesn't get heckled for it, though...and some of those fools deserve the ridicule.

Some people just want to be associated with victories ... -without- the struggle to get there. The degree of satisfaction that a fan who goes from defeat to victory and struggles to championships can NEVER compare with a wannabe who only joins the bandwagon at the last second.

I do not criticise these wannabes. We should not be surprised to see how many there are (where are those Tom Brady's jersys now?) We should acknowledge the true fans who go from thick and thin to support their teams.

I mean: How can anybody disrespect a long-term Lions, Browns or Bengals fan?

How can anybody disrespect true fans of teams who had SB trophies and now are at the bottom of the barrel, e.g., Bucaneers, Raiders and Redskins?

I highly respect a fan wearing his/her colours proudly throughout bad times.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

I think it's possible to admire that as long suffering a team as the Saints have been through their history and revel in it a bit w/ being a "bandwagon fan."

I was totally a Saint's fan.. now that its over, so is my fandome for them. I just didn't want to see Manning get another yet, especially over Drew.
