Hognostications Week 12

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Okay Thursday's games:

Packers
Cowboys
Broncos
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Packers
Cowpies <--- Tougher call than you might think. Oakland is on the rise, and Dallas sucks.
G-strings <--- I've flip-flopped on this game multiple times already. Wish they could have played earlier in the season.
Dolphins
Colts
Bengals
Jets
Falcons
Redskins
Seahawks
Chargers
49ers
Vikings
Cardinals
Ravens
Saints <--- Only because they are at home.

I'm pissed at myself for once again letting others' picks influence my own. I had the Broncos down for the win, and then talked myself out of it because no one else was picking them.

:hmm: ...um. by MY count, FIVE other hognosticators picked the Broncos to win.

and I thought you were doing well this year based on your own selections, now we find that you apparently pick some games based on how other people pick?

that's an interesting tidbit

personally, I just pick the teams I think will win the game

I've hemmed and hawed about whether to change my Pittsburgh pick. I will stay with them. I need to make up ground.

Picks are officially closed.

Quick question: By any chance, are we going to do, like in year's past, where we drop the worst weekly record for each hognosticator?

I'd like to drop my 0-13 forfeit, as it ruins my chances of catching the leader, who gloats about making picks based on others'.

Right! And the only times I haven't done that, I have lost. I wouldn't be in the lead this season, or be the all-time career Hognostications leader if I were simply picking against the other contestants.

No, we will not drop our worst week.

First, you have no chance even if you had that week back.

Secondly, the only reason we have dropped a week in the past was because of a foul-up in the software, a week in which there was a tragedy (ST21's murder), or an opening week where the contest was not officially begun, so everyone did not get a fair chance to enter picks. Simply missing a week does not reach the bar for you to get a mulligan. (Just ask SkinsJock about last year's "championship*.")

* And for the record, I still contend I made my picks week 8 last year. Had we dropped the low week's score, rather than the first week and the week where the software stopped working entirely, victory was mine.

But I'm not bitter.

oh my - I get to revel in the joy, again - I don't make the rules, I just make my little picks & let someone decide who the winner was each week

the 'trophy' has the right name on it for 2008
