Stan Hixon has underperformed and so has Sherman Smith when it comes to getting our young recievers producing on sunday, either that or those young recievers are simply not improving through coaching because of some fault of their own.

Sherman Lewis is someone with alot of rings who's record demands respect, but it's not everyday coaches are picked up during the season and how will that play out?

Zorn came in to be O Coordinator first, and then got promoted. I imagine that the switch from QB coach to HEAD COACH is probably a rough transition and just may be too much to adapt to all at one time for Zorn. There's no shame in that. Agreed. He will help with the little things. I think the biggest thing he'll help out with is getting started. Seems Zorn is having a very tough time getting out of the gates in games. Once he gets to the meat of his playbook, the team doesn't look half bad, but by then the defense is totally worn out with all the time they've spent on the field. So the first half is spent with the Offense going 3 and out and the second half is spent with the defense not able to get off the field. I really think this is a good move. One I suggested a week ago by bringing in Holmgren. To add a set of eyes and to figure out what the hell is going on. Problem with adding Holmgren would have been the ego battle between he and Zorn. Sherm is a good fit for this assignment.

Your opinion about Redskins ball movement seems to me supported by the last game only, which is to say, inadequately.

Sadly this team lacks the ferocity and killer instinct that general Sherman displayed.

General Sherman had a better offensive line. Our line doesn't lack ferocity and killer instint. It lacks speed, strenght, skill, and savvy. It wants to kill, injure, maim and win, especially now. My cocker spaniel would like to kick my butt, with good reason. Too bad for my cocker spaniel.

The O-line isn't in the top ten, but neither are they in the bottom 10. that it is almost unreasonable to expect Campball to take more than a look or two before delivering. Stepping up into the pocket seems almost off the table. Rabach and the right guard don't seems to be stopping anybody.

I think it's time for Zorn turn over those duties to Sherm L. anyway. But this goes back to Management and is also Zorn's ego. If you look around the league at all of the new first time HC's, he, Todd Haley and McDaniels I think are the only ones trying to coordinate and head coach. McDaniels has gotten lucky in Denver and the Chiefs under Haley are the Chiefs.

It was not a smart move to have Zorn be HC and OC when he's done neither one. When he was hired as HC maybe the "Fake" Office or even Zorn himself should have reached out to the "Bingo Caller" when Zorn was first hired to be OC. Yes, Zorn may know the WCO but he's never coached it. He was a QBs coach. Lewis coached it and has won rings doing it.

I say Zorn or the "Fake" Office should give Lewis two-three weeks to get acclimated and then take over as OC. Then Zorn can focus on being the HC and start firing these guys up and get Blache to stop playing this "electric football" style of defense where the guys have to be in a spot and not using their talents.

It's very clear that the WR's are not getting open and there is nothing Zorn can do except keep the guys on the field and coach them up. You have to say that this is really Kelly's rookie year. With all his injuries last year, he didn't get to be out there running routes, etc (not an excuse - a fact) but he's got to put in more time.

Doc Walker said it perfectly yesterday - in no other sport do you get more out of it based on the amount of work you put in. These guys have to put in more time in film study, and for some, honing their craft. One of the best hands in the game, Torry Holt, still catches 100 balls every day from the Juggs machine from various body positions. I would say that he's had a pretty good career. I think that with Kelly, he needs to be out there working with the CB's and other WR's attempting to sell their routes and gain separation. That's my thought.

Frank I hear you but if it's not the "Bingo Caller" then who?? Obviously Zorn is in over his head and it's admirable that his players are saying it's not his play calling, but something is wrong.

Besides, the "Bingo Caller" has got more experience after sitting out for awhile than Zorn or Sherman Smith have combined calling plays. For alot of people, it's like riding a bike. Besides, I seriously doubt that this guy has been just sitting around calling bingo and delivering meals on wheels. He may have fallen off the grid because of his disillusion of not being hired as an HC but I don't think that he's actually fully checked out of the game.

I say that this is a precursor to Holmgren anyway. Get his old GB OC back in the fold now to get his feet wet again for the rest of this season all while evaluating the talent for Holmgren, then in February the announcements come. Holmgren HC, Lewis OC and then some other Walsh coaching tree guy (who will put Orakpo on his knuckles) as DC.....

Or, they just assign a play on the play chart to each number and have a metal bingo bin on the sidelines and call the plays by pulling out a ball and going with whatever it says.

From Bingo caller to Redskins consultant, does anyone else find this hilarious? If that doesn't sum up what's wrong with the front office and the entire organization, I don't know what does. :roll:

I'm a bit worried that this guy has been out of the NFL for a while, I wonder how quick he can adjust his playcalling to the speed of today's game.
