Roster Shakeup!

Post by Jake »

The Redskins not surprisingly signed Ron Warner and Mitch White today and released Brad Bedell and Ladairis Jackson. I am upset about Ladairis leaving town because he had true potential if the team ever let him play. He impressedme a lot last year and I wish I got to see him here for the rest of this season.

They both played for the Bucs. Here's some more info...

Redskins Sign Two to Bolster Lines
10/21/2003

The Redskins signed defensive end Ron Warner and offensive lineman Mitch White on Tuesday. To make room for White and Warner, the Redskins released offensive lineman Brad Bedell and defensive end Ladairis Jackson.

Both Warner and White were at Redskin Park on Tuesday and practiced with the team.

Warner, who saw his first significant playing time last year, is 6-3 and 270 pounds. He can play both right and left defensive end. He was a member of Tampa Bay’s Super Bowl championship team last year, seeing action on special teams during the season and the Bucs’ playoff run.

A seventh-round draft pick (239th overall) by the New Orleans Saints in 1998, Warner was a member of the Redskins’ practice squad for three months during the 1999 season. He has also been on the practice squads of the Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay.

During the 2002 offseason, Warner played with NFL Europe’s Barcelona Dragons and led the league with six sacks.

Warner played his collegiate ball at Kansas and in just two seasons became the Jayhawks’ all-time sack leader with 20.5 sacks. He was a third-team All-America selection and first-team All-Big 12 Conference as a senior.

White, 6-4 and 311 pounds, is regarded as a strong, physical offensive lineman. He was in Tampa Bay’s training camp last July before being released. In 2002, White had practice squad stints with Green Bay, New Orleans and the New York Jets.

White played his collegiate ball at Oregon State and started 23 games at right tackle. He was a sixth-round draft pick (185th overall) by New Orleans in 2001. He was inactive for the Saints first nine games that year, before being released and subsequently resigned to the practice squad.

Well L. Jackson sure never got any opportunity this season.

Maybe he's been stinking at practice but he didn't get many game reps.
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

As badly as we needed help on the defensive line, I have to believe that Jackson wasnt performing in practice or wasnt progressing the way the team had hoped.
