Me too. He might get a good amount of playing time if he does good in camp due to our lack of depth/talent at the OLB position. He does seem like a good community guy.
Kinda weird they say he signed April 2nd yet I cant find any news on this from any site including Redskins.com.
Thomas should bring nice depth to the LB corps. Solid signing.

How is a guy who has a career of a little over 40 tackles a year, two tackles last year, and a busted knee cap this year a solid signing? Thomas was a first round bust seven years ago and is much worse now. This is not a move of any consequence at all.

Probably because besides Fletcher our LBs suck. Bringing in Robert Thomas and giving him a shot to compete for a roster spot is a solid move. If it doesnt work out we cut him and theres no harm done.
I never have a problem with bringing in players who have experience and can at the very least compete in training camp and make our team better.

I have to disagree here. Rocky has been solid excluding when he blew his knee out, and he even he came back strong. FUTURE potential degenerative knee problems cannot be used in determining CURRENT performance analysis because that hasn't been a factor. You can't say someone sucks based on a hypothetical future that isn't guaranteed to happen.
Blades, for a late round guy, has played admirably. No, we don't have 3 Lewis, Brooks, original LT, (insert whatever LB you idolize), but our LB corps wasn't bad.
Keep in mind the context of the mediocre (at best) DL we had, and I think our LBs did quite well. Would you rather have Khary Campbell and Marcus Washington out there than who we have?
...any given Sunday....
RIP #21 Sean Taylor. You will be loved and adored by Redskins fans forever!!!!!

What a useless piece of propagandist rhetoric that is.

I thought Rocky was a bad pick since we traded up, missed out on Jackson, and drafted him instead. I havent seen anything from Rocky that makes me thing hes going to be a good LB for us. Hopefully im wrong though.
I like Blades as a MLB not as a OLB. I think he sucks at OLB.

Well considering that we don't currently have a starter at the SAM position I would say that linebacker is at the very least a question mark. Rocky is very solid, but can be inconsistent at times. He really struggled at the end of last season.

I think he wore out...which wasn't surprising considering the extent of the knee injury he was coming back from.

I agree. This kind of like the signing of Schweigert last year. Thomas is probably more of a special teams hopeful. He kind of reminds me of Blades to be honest, although Blades is a cut above, IMO.
By google it, he of course meant consult his medical chart...
But back to the topic, I don't see a problem with bringing in a guy that is here to fight for a job at a position of need. I liked trading for Erasmus James, even though it didn't pan out. This one didn't even cost a draft pick.
RIP 21

Hey Everyone!! I have been reading posts for about 6 months now, and decided it was time to start putting my two cents in...Good to be here! I wish there was something more exciting than Robert Thomas to discuss.

If we don't re-sign K. Campbell, he might make the roster as Rocky's backup.
Blades is definitely a "cut" above.
