I'm liking that Skinfan. I have a soft spot for the guy because he's caused problems with Philthy and the Pukes, and you know he'd love to stick it to both teams if he had the chance. If a one year deal is an option, I think it's worth a punt.

Thats true, but he made the TDs our WRs don't.

If were Dan, I'd call a team meeting and ask the team their thoughts.

Then if everyone's ok with signing him, I'd make him an offer. I would have to put something in his contract so if he causes problems I can cut without thinking twice.

He'll be good for us for 1 year for a few of reasons.

1) He's going to be on good behavior, he always is his first year with a team.

2) He's hating the cowpies right now. What better place to go than than a team that hates the cowpies too?

3) What better person for Kelly and Thomas to watch and learn from. These rookies were watching him on T.V. blow up the Eagles. I think they know what's not good about T.O. But they can pick up some good things watching him from the sidelines.

I would under no circumstances keep him more than 1 year. I don't care how much of an angel he was in that first year, we couldn't keep him more than 1 year. That way, he don't have the time to start problems.

It's funny, I've been listening to Mike and Mike and they've been getting emails all morning from fans of a variety of teams. The general consensus is that a good portion of fans WANT T.O. on their team.

I think he's a cancer and don't really want him. That said, the only upside I could see is if he wanted to get back at Philly and the Pies in our division. But it would be a risk and a media circus/frenzy that I don't really care to witness.

Everyone and their mother in the media has the Redskins showing interest in TO. I would only take him for a one year deal for about 5-7 million. He's still a game changer and would make an immediate impact on our team. I think Zorn could handle him for a year.

I can't decide how I'd feel about this...

Here's scenario one...

TO comes to Washington, throws a fit because he can't wear #81 (semi-retired for Art Monk)

Jason Campbell can't control him, Jim Zorn can't control him he runs amok freelances... Campbell throws a bunch of picks, we finish 8-8... Zorn gets fired, Campbell is not re-signed, Owens is released.

Here's scenario two...

TO comes to Washington, wears #80 both to get a fresh start, and because that's the number he wore in college.

He gets along great (at least at first) with Jason Campbell who is a no attitude kind of leader and Clinton Portis who is universally liked around the league.

Jason Campbell becomes a star with a legit big receiver to throw to and Santana Moss is able to become a deep threat again... both guys grab over 1,000 yards with a fair amount of touchdowns and ey gets about 700 yards and some scores... the offense blooms and our defense led by Haynesworth is good enough to lead us deep into the playoffs.



Personally I think scenario 2 sounds more likely.

People make Terrell Owens out to be some type of cancer but most players in the Cowboys locker room like him. (Though, he did once spit in DeAngelo Hall's face... but the two allegedly made up.)

I can't decide how I'd feel about this.

I can't believe that people actually want to see TO on the Skins. The guy is a locker room cancer and he is the last person that we need. He has played on three NFL teams so far and created trouble for every one. If he couldn't get along with established qb's like Garcia, McNabb, and Romo, how is he going to do with a young qb like JC? He is way more trouble than he is worth. I know that our young receivers didn't live up to expectations in their rookie years but they need to given a chance. Yes they've developed slower than most would have liked, but I really believe that if healthy, Malcolm Kelly can step up and being a big time player for us. Signing TO to the detriment of our young guys would be a big mistake and a continuation of the unsuccessful "win now" and forget about the future that we have seen here under Snyder.

The Redskins have “no interest” in signing wide receiver Terrell Owens, executive vice president of football operations Vinny Cerrato said.

Owens was released on Thursday by the Dallas Cowboys.

“[Owens’s representatives] called us three years ago before he went to Dallas, and we didn’t have interest then,” Cerrato said. “Why would we have interest when he’s three years older now? We have no interest.”

Cerrato said the Redskins remain committed to developing their young group of wide receivers, including 2008 second-round picks Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly.

Owens is a 13-year NFL veteran who has played for the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys. He is 35 years old.

Owens has 951 career catches for 14,122 yards and 139 touchdowns in his career.

He carries with him plenty of baggage, though. He has been a distraction on and off the field in each of the cities he has played in. In 2005, he was suspended for four games by the Eagles for conduct detrimental to the team.

Cerrato was director of player personnel with San Francisco in 1996 when the 49ers selected Owens in the third round of the NFL Draft.

The Cerrato-Owens connection has led to speculation that the Redskins would be interested in obtaining Owens. That is not the case, however.

ESPN also just reported that their sources confirmed that the Redskins have no interest. Thank God.
