Who do you want tommorow?

Post by Jake »

These are my faves!

Chad Lavalais, DT, LSU
Isaac Hilton, DE, Hampton
Shawn Johnson, DE, Delaware
Dave Ball, DE, UCLA
Nathaniel Adibi, DE, Va Tech

Maybe we can trade up to get one (or a few) of these guys.

That's not really my order, here it is (due to change over the course of tommorow):

Isaac Hilton, DE, Hampton
Chad Lavalais, DT, LSU
Nathaniel Adibi, DE, Va Tech
Dave Ball, DE, UCLA
Shawn Johnson, DE, Delaware

RIP Kevin Mitchell 1971-2007

Chad is too small - a one gap defensive tackle according to what I have read - gets overrun on run plays - too similar to what happened last year with our one gap DTs...

No thanks :)

Adibi - underperformed for the whole time he was at Tech... I watched him in every game - I would love to see him be great - but I don't think he will be.

Hilton - I keep hearing great things about...

I hear great things about Lavalais from LSU. The guy had some great games but the upside for Hilton is unreal. If either fall into our lap it would be awesome.

As much as I watch college football I dont know much about this TE that we drafted. Does anyone have a link of his stats that I could check out?

Hilton has Jason Taylor/ Dwight Freeney potential, maybe even from day 1. He's extremely quick for a DE (some teams consider moving him to LB), he's a local (Hampton U.), and he's actually stronger than everyone makes him out to be (31 bench reps). Rumor has it that he's ran in the 4.4 range before, and in a DE, that's not something you find everyday...

Man, I forgot about Mel's darkhorse, Darrell McClover out of the University of Miami (Florida). He had a really good senior season. I wouldn't mind to see him drop to us.

Also, my boy Isaac Sopaoga (I can't spell his name) from Hawaii is still available. He could be a great value pick if we trade up in the 4th round or if he drops to us if we stay put in the 5th round.

Jake, you gotta stop talking to yourself :)

I am confident that with THAT much experience in the front office, we'll draft somebody, and they will be wicked awesome... :D

EDIT- Isaac Sopoaga is the highest rated defensive lineman still available according to Scouts Inc. He is rated 81, in the top ten of defensive tackles!

Sopoaga is still available~!?!!??! OMG THIS GUY IS CRAZY! He put up 40+ bench reps at the Hawaii pro day! Most mock drafts had him going in the 2nd or 3rd round. I want two people today, hopefully via trading up.... Isaac Sopoaga and Isaac Hilton; This pair of Isaac's would greatly improve our D-Line and will hopefully become immediate starters. I can imagine Big Sopoaga in the middle clogging holes, while Hilton is rushing the QB on every play. These guys would make our draft PERFECT, in my opinion. Hopefully we can swing some trades.
