I'm as happy about the Dallas draft as I possibly could be. Julius Jones was the back I'd hoped for all along. Rogers and Peterman, while not "sexy" picks, are exactly what the team needed. Three starters added to a PLAYOFF team isn't a bad draft.

Getting a 1st next year was the key though. I think it was acquired to use if Mike Williams is in the supplemental draft. If someone else puts in a higher claim, having 2 #1s next year isn't the end of the world.

yeah, i'm REAL sure all the cowboy fans are stoked about yesterday's draft.

From Espn.com:

Losers
Cleveland Browns: Don't misunderstand, getting tight end Kellen Winslow is a great acquisition. He might be the one of the two best players in the draft. But the Browns don't have the luxury to trade away a second-round pick to move up one spot to take him. Their offensive line is thin, as is their secondary. All they seem to do is churn linebackers with new starters year after year. To come out of this draft with only two first-day picks -- Winslow and safety Sean Jones -- is not enough.

Dallas Cowboys: What, does Jerry Jones think that Bill Parcells is worrying about the 2005 team? Apparently, he does. He traded for Drew Henson, his quarterback of the future. He gave away the chance to take Steven Jackson by trading back for the gain of a 2005 first-rounder. Joe Gibbs is working on a two-year plan in Washington. This is Year 2 for Parcells. Julius Jones better be as good as Jackson or Year 3 might not be in Parcells' plans.

Kansas City Chiefs: Last year, Dick Vermeil wanted a pass-rusher and he got a halfback, Larry Johnson, who was no more than a third-stringer for him. This year, Vermeil wanted a wide receiver from one of the greatest receiver drafts in history. He got a defensive tackle, Junior Siavii and tight end Kris Wilson. Eddie Kennison and Johnnie Morton aren't getting any younger now.

I post on several Cowboys boards and on every one of them I had Julius Jones as the back I HOPED Dallas would draft. He wasn't who I thought they would draft, but who I hoped.

I don't know the rules about linking to other sites here, but I can provide the links if you'd like.

I don't think I would be going around admitting to everyone that you actually WANTED an undersized, unintelligent, running back who can't hold onto the rock

It's difficult to carry on an intelligent conversation with people who invent things. Try looking into the facts before you start spouting drivel.

Jones is actually slightly larger than Emmitt Smith, fumbled a whopping 3 times last season and scored decently on his wonderlic.

I have access to reports you might not, the scouts inc scouting report lists Julius Jones as having problems digesting a playbook and not retaining an offensive system, he's also only 5'9'' 217 and he does have questionable hands...

Maybe you should come out of denial
