winslow is not a bust!!!

Winslow is a sure thing. The man is big strong and can dominate over the middle. I cant stress to you guys how criticle he will be one those 3rd and 5s and 6s that we failed to get SO MANY TIMES. He will be unstoppable in the goalline situations. He will make our drives last longer because I know gibbs will be so creative when he uses k2. I know I know thats not gibbs style of offense, well we dont have the same team we use to and a hall of fame coach is smarter enough to adapt to what he has trust me. Unlike spurrier who didnt adapt to jack ****. And as far as taylor, I think the guy is a awesome player. I would love to have him, but if were talking about drafting defense we need someone to put some heat on the opposing qb. I think iffy and bowen are solid. They dont have major injury problems and under a new staff Im betting atleast iffy will SHINE> WINSLOW WOULD OVERALL BENEFIT US MORE!!!

I agree Winlsow will be a great player.
I agree Taylor will be a great player.
I'd take Taylor over Winslow for this simple reason:
Weaknesses on Offense: H-Back
Weaknesses on Defense: DT, DE, S

I believe one of Iffy/Bowen is good enough, I just don't like having both of them back there.

Having an extra weapon on O would not benefit us as much as an extra star on D, regardless of position. Considering that none of the D-Linemen in the draft are worthy of the 5th spot, we either trade down or take Taylor.

Who said Winslow will be a bust?

I need to know who not to listen to

Winslow will be a great TE weather he is a Redskin or not.

I like KW2 but we really could use a saftey like Taylor and Joe Gibbs will get the H-Back that he needs from where ever he gets the players no one eles knows about

its just rare to see a tightend with his ability. I mean in the nfl there are only 3 really dominating tightends, gonzalez, heap and shockey. And they are bigtime difference makers. Winslow is rare and special

Both Taylor and Winslow are can't miss in this draft. My hopes are for Taylor. He will help sure up the defense which needs another impact/game changing player on the defense.

I envision Winslow unhappy when he's asked to primarily block for Portis and upset when he is not the main option in the passing game (coles). Throw in the Postons and that's enough for me to steer away from him.

That would be me! Winslow has bust written all over him. I'm not saying that he will definetly be a bust, but if he is on this team I think that the chemistry just won't work out. I don't think that he will be as productive as his draft status indicates no matter what team he is on.

Why would I say that Winslow would be a bust in washington. He has had some injury problems. He's immature. And if he isn't used to his liking he whines. I can just see him being unhappy about his role here and whining and complaining, but not producing at the same time. I don't think that he would be receptive to learning a new position, which H-back would be. How many showboat me first players have the Washington Redskins had in the last 12 years? And how many playoff appearances. I don't think that you could possibly argue that Winslow is more of a character guy than Taylor.

Oh, and by the way. Winslow is NOT widely accepted as being more of a sure thing. Thats just what one sportswriter wrote. More people, including Larry Coker, have said that Taylor is the superior athlete. He is clearly the more humble of the two.

Maybe I'm wrong and Winslow won't be a bust....but I think that odds are just as good that he is a bust as not.

If we end up drafting Winslow I won't lose any sleep, and I'll certainly root for him to do well, but I think that Winslow comes with a large print caveat that Taylor does not....that caveat would be ....BUST-ABLE!

Yes, having a dominant TE is a big difference maker. But you can easily make the same argument for having a dominant Safety.

Using your example lets look at Heap who is on the Baltimore Ravens. Heap is clearly their most talented reciever. But look at where thier passing offense ranked....wasn't it like #30? But on the other side of the ball they have Ed Reed. And their defense is dominant. Its not like the Ravens have a great D-Line because they don't. Thier Tackles and Ends aren't any better than our. They do have a lot of talent at LB, but so do we. They have good CB's, but so do we. They have great safetys, but so do.....wait we don't!

Dude, let's not forget Shannon Sharpe. The man is about to be 36, and he is still bringin'it. Look for the Redskins w/ Sean Taylor and the gang bring it agains the Broncos, Sharpe and Bailey in this year's Super Bowl. I'm sure the Broncos want a little payback from the last time we played in the super bowl (against them), and we want to prove it wasn't no fluke!!!! :thump:
