Mark My Words.....
....If we take Winslow over Taylor we will be sorry. I have the sinking suspicion that Winslow is going to be a bust. Be it attitude, or injuries, or some other unforseen problem, we will pay for drafting Kellen Winslow Jr.
78.5% of the Washington Post's readers agree with me. Taylor is the way to go! A stud Safety is a necessary ingredient in a Gregg Williams defense!

Kellen Winslow is widely reguarded as being more of a "sure thing" than Sean Taylor. Taylor is a good hitter, but he has "tackling" problems.
Both Kellen Winslow and Shawn Taylor have all the tools to be great, but I think you always have to go with with more refined player, the player with the pedigree and the player who wants it more... We all saw what can happen when you throw that out the window... remember Ryan Leaf?
Peyton has the genes and a lifetime of Archie's teaching, that is part of what makes him such an excellent quarterback, the same will be said for Kellen Winslow, he has amazing genes and a lifetime of talking football with a hall of famer! Kellen Winslow is far and away the smarter pick, I won't cry if we draft Taylor, but we won't, because Joe Gibbs is a smart man. He knows the smart money is on Winslow

Where do you get this stuff from? I couldn't find the "ESPN Make Believe" site anywhere..... Never heard of him being a poor tackler, or Winslow as more of a "sure thing".... especially since most everyone has Taylor higher rated than Winslow....

I guess we should take Jared Payton with our first pick then.... Or lets trade for Brian Griese.....
He has amazing genes and a lifetime of talking football with a hall of famer, but he's a cocky SOB and we've seen the same attitude in TO,Meshawn,Deion, etc etc..... And they are all good but none of them stayed with a team for very long.... when they felt they weren't the focus of the team.... they cried and left..... Sorry, No Thanks!
Draft Taylor!

lol, you must have selective hearing
I said you have to take refinement of skills, pedigree and desire! not JUST pedigree!
Brian Griese sucks because he doesn't want it bad enough, he doesn't want to be a leader, he doesn't WANT to be a winner. Jared Payton doesn't have the refinement of skills there, I'll bet he has the desire, we know he has the pedigree but he's missing the skills.
Kellen Winslow WILL be the better pro football player, I have never been more sure of anything in my life, and I am not that worried about him not getting drafted... I KNOW Joe Gibbs knows what I know, and that's that K2 is the better choice, this is a nonissue, order your Kellen Winslow jerseys today!

of course gibbs isn't stupid enough to pass up a sure thing, that's why we're drafting Taylor.

This is why we should draft Taylor... He's going to make people quiver when they have to run a route in his general direction.
He plays like a Pro Bowl corner at times, though, most notably in a late-season clash with Pittsburgh All-American receiver Larry Fitzgerald. Often matched up in man-coverage against the Heisman Trophy runner-up, Taylor helped hold Fitzgerald to three catches for 24 yards.
Taylor attributes his ball-hawking abilities in part to the excessive amount of time he spends studying game films, something he says he's done since high school.
"Just reading the quarterback and reading the receiver's routes," the Miami native said. "It helps get you that extra edge to the ball and kind of beat the receiver to his route."
On those rare occasions when he doesn't get to the receiver before the ball, Taylor reverts to his linebacker mode. His ferocious hits have been likened to those that used to be dished out by Ronnie Lott, perhaps the greatest safety in NFL history.
Taylor has little sympathy for his victims who think he hit them too hard.
"If that was the case, you should have switched over to defense where you can do the hitting," he said. "If you catch it or come across the middle, or if I get a chance to get a hit on you, I'm going to hit you."
As for the comparisons to Lott, Taylor shows a brief moment of humility.
The opinion of 10,000 men is of no value if none of them know anything about the subject.

I think we can ALL agree that Winslow is the best TE to come out of the draft in recent memory and Taylor is the best S in recent memory, but I believe Winslow has a lot more value for what he will bring to the table, Taylor is a luxury pick.
If Joe or any of the rest of the 200 year club says Taylor is more valuable than Winslow, I would live with it... but I am just so confident they won't...
I mean, I am not closed minded about this, I can see Taylor making helmet popping tackles on WR's and bonecrushing hits on running backs... but I can also see Kellen Winslow stretching out the offense and making Patrick Ramsey a top 5 passer, and Gardner and Coles pro bowl calibur recievers.
I am confident Kellen Winslow will have more of an impact on offense than Taylor will have on defense, it's that simple...

Sf55 I agree with everything you said I really want Taylor but its starting to really sound like the Skins will pick KW2
either way we come out winners
My thing had been Winslow signabllity (if that's a word) with the Potsons but thinking about it, those brothers have caused so much havok around the league this offseason they really have to work with the FO's to get their players in camp on time or they'll have trouble signing players in the future

Hey, I love Taylor, you gotta love a guy who sets his priorities straight:
1.) Punish the reciever
2.) Make a play
I mean, he is one mean SOB who plays football for the sole purpose of hitting people. What's more is he is great in coverage. That said, Kellen Winslow Jr. has TE size with WR speed hands and routerunning ability. He would create tons of matchup problems and REALLY open things up for the whole offense. I just see Winslow as having more of an impact on the Skins is all

I'm not going to be crying in my corn flakes if we draft Kellen Winslow, but I just have the sinking suspicion that he is the most over hyped player in the draft. Every draft seems to have one major bust, and I think its going to be Kellen Winslow. If we draft him I'll still root for the guy, and I'll hope that I'm wrong. If it turns out that I am wrong I will happily admit it. But when he holds out, or breaks his ankle in the second game of the season I reserve the right to say "I told you so!"

Oh, If he lives up to the hype then yes, I'll agree with you, but I doubt that he will.
