It'll be Gregg Williams I SWEAR!

Post by Gibbs4Life »

So Jacksonville interviews Gregg and they don't hire him? C'mon, you think any team in the NFL wouldn't jump, make that leap at the chance to get Gregg as DC. Gregg is doing interviews for coordinator positions just for show, he has no intention of accepting, he is the next head coach of our Washington Redskins, there is no doubt in my mind about that!
You all really believe our ownership just all of a sudden got sour on Gregg Williams? Like one slip up or argument and all of a sudden Gregg is not the best choice? C'mon! We aren't hiring Mariucci, or Fassel, or Meeks or any other outsider...LOOK AT OUR CURRENT STAFF, the head coach has been chosen and it's Gregg Williams.

Dude, I heard you saying this in another thread, and I'm sorry but you are totally high on an almost lethal mixture of crystal methamphetamine's and black tar herion.

I swear to god if GW is named coach I will send you a 6 pack of your favorite beer. Dont get me wrong... I wouldn't mind if your right, but there really is no GOOD reason to go through this dog and pony show if thats the case. What purpose does it serve?

I think I read somewhere you saying it was to show up the media or prove he is not a racist for not "seriously" interviewing a black headcoach. Cmon' now. Give me a reasonable explanation as to why we would do all this and not promote him yet....

That would make no sense whatsoever. What benefit does it serve the Redskins organization or G. Williams for that matter to handle it this way?
Was this was the plan from the beginning? or that Snyder and Vinnie have run out of options? either way I could see Vince Lombardi coming out of the grave to run the Redskins before I could see G. Williams as the next head coach.
Bruce has the authority. When Bruce makes the decision, it's a Redskins decision.

I know everybody says ignore the media, but I was watching one of my favorite sports channels, The NFL Network, this evening. They were talking to Brett Favre. Favre was commenting on what a great coach Mooch was as an assistant in GB. I flipped to ESPN briefly, and flipped back. They had started talking about Brett playing again, and the question was asked, do the Skins play the Packers next season? Brett said to Steve, you better hope not!! Sounds to me like he must have said that he was seriously considering it, b/c their conversation seemed to lead that direction.

Yeah. Sure.

Having an existing 'staff in place for the next head coach' is a mockery, not a devilish ploy to bring back a guy that you just crapped on when he was on his way out.

Look for a silver lining all you like, but at the end of the day, you can't polish a turd.

Dude.. what do you mean suddenly got sour on GW? Do you not know the management? Have you not followed the countless threads about Vinny and his apparent..umm... dislike for GW? So they set up the whole thing huh? I guess GW doesn't mind getting treated like crap for tv huh?

Dude, I like GW, I've always said that; I want him here. It's not gonna happen man and your comments about "all of a sudden" is just absurd. Chill man, don't post, read them, vent to your co-workers or family and if they agree with you, post it. No disrespect, I was strictly referring to your thread, not you.

How come the Skins aren't eligible for any compensation (like draft picks) for Williams or Saunders?

Last I heard, we "released" them to look for employment elsewhere, but that they were still under contract through this year... so wouldn't we have the right to block any hire without compensation? (not that we haven't jerked those guys around enough, but I'm just sayin...)

I remember the Bucs giving up picks for Gruden and the Chiefs giving up picks for Herman Edwards.

Those guys were still with the teams. I think because we released them, then we fofit the picks. I could be wrong.

Spencer- you can make those Corona or Miller Lites :D

Gregg Williams is the next head coach and soon as we get this retarded bowl out of the way then we can get on with it... The reason he was officially 'released' was the decision was made not to declare a head coach untill after the SB in part not to steal from the SBhype but mostly because of our owner's paranoia about getting in trouble with the league for not considering everyone. Now obviously some here have said they hope I am right and yet stop short of agreeing with me...for anyone who wants to go on record....now is the time. It's gonna happen people, Snyder respects Joe Gibbs soo much if Joe said Danny Smith should be HC then we would have bubble gum Smith at that podium. I think it is funny how many Redskins fans who follow the team and have for years are all convinced that our organization would just chuck out a coach like Gregg Williams and keep all of his staff! Its absurd. Soon enough you'll all see.

Part of the plan, make it seem like Gregg had no idea they we're still considering him. All of this was discussed during 4 official interviews and numerous off the record conversations. Take notice Gregg will not accept any offers.
