Secondary Team
First of all let me pledge my allegance to the burgundy and gold... That being said, I hope all of you are Cleveland Browns fans this year... I have been rooting and cheering since mid-April when the Browns traded next years 1st to the Boys for this past years 1st... If the Browns end up blowing this fantastic start, Dallas will be sitting there with a pretty good pick(darren mcfadden, chris long, and so on..................................)... So go DOG POUND...

He's saying the Cowpies have Cleveland's 1st round pick in the 2008 draft. We should all be rooting for a strong year in Cleveland, so that pick will be a late 1st rounder rather than a top 10 pick. They currently sit at 5-3, one game behing division leader Pittsburgh.

You're saying it clearly. I'm not convinced I could make that out of the original post on a bet.
Re: Secondary Team
Doesn't matter. At worst, we're gonna get a mid-1st round pick. Bottom line is that in the NFL draft, any first round pick is a solid pick. So Cleveland can conquer the world... we still got a 1st rounder out of the deal. Word up.tj123456 wrote:First of all let me pledge my allegance to the burgundy and gold... Uh no. If Cleveland were to win the SB, the Pies would get the 32nd pick in next year's draft. In fact, if they do better than you did last season, they will have made a good trade, value-wise.

Like I said, at worst, we're getting a mid-first rounder because at best, Cleveland is a middle of the pack team. Feel me? Mid-first round, baby.JSPB22 wrote:BeeGee wrote:Doesn't matter. Yeh but I think predicting the Browns finish as a mid-pack team is about 15 seasons more accurate than saying "If Cleveland were to win the SB..." I'm actually giving the Browns a compliment in placing them as a middle of the pack team.JSPB22 wrote:You may feel that way, but you can't state that as fact.BeeGee wrote:Like I said, at worst, we're getting a mid-first rounder because at best, Cleveland is a middle of the pack team. I agree here Cowturds deserve a lower round pick for being stupid in the First place. Quinn 5 years down the road might be a Great QB. And read nothing into this. I am saying that what might happen. Nothing else.

Re: Secondary Team
The Cowboys dropped 3 draft spots, got a first-rounder for next year, and still got the DE (Anthony Spencer) we wanted in the first place. That's stupid? Actually it's a no-brainer and any team in our spot would've done the same thing unless they were scared their first choice wasn't gonna fall to them.flamethrower wrote:I agree here Cowturds deserve a lower round pick for being stupid in the First place. We basically had a 1st rounder for 08 fall into our lap. Don't be so bitter.

I can't fault the trade. Usually in the draft there are 4 to 7 guys that everyone wants and after those are gone in the first round you get the best player to fill your need. We had heard Dallas wanted Spencer well before the draft. On paper it was a great move. The final verdict won't be in for several years until all the players involved can be evaluated over a reasonable time span. As for now, both teams got what they wanted so lets call it even to start with.

Spencer could turn out to be a bust. Or, Suspended for a Year at least like Ricky Williams, or Adam "Pac-man" Jones. And Quinn could turn out to be a Top tier NFL QB. Then who is stupid.

What does it matter? We were gonna draft Spencer regardless, but we dropped down 3 spots and came away with Spencer + Cleveland's #1 for next season.flamethrower wrote:Spencer could turn out to be a bust. Are you seeing this clearly? You're acting like the Cowboys passed on Brady Quinn or something. We got the guy we wanted AND the Brown's #1 for '08. So even if Spencer ends up a crackhead on the street and Quinn ends up the next Marino, we got a #1 pick for moving down a few draft spots.

I do. I don't like it but i guess cleveland is dumb. Have to be to make an offer like that.
I guess the risk was too big for Cleveland. Word is that the Chiefs were planning on picking Quinn up, so Cleveland pulled the trigger to jump ahead of KC. Of course, KC went with Bowe and picked up Brody Croyle later on.brad7686 wrote:I do. I don't like it but i guess cleveland is dumb. Have to be to make an offer like that.
We were just completely lucky to be in that coveted spot with a player we felt would still be there at #26. Complete luck.
