Good Game Skins....

Post by truelion »

I missed the game cause I was on the road and just now got home...So I can't really comment on the game other than we lost and you won, and by the score and stats, I'd say handily....

And to the Site admin....I just got caught up with my original post and no worries....I've run into many people much worse4 than Portis2whatshisface....

Until we meet again Redskins....

Good luck...

Good game too man. Hey the Lions are an up and coming team as we are. Both of our teams are still young and trying to establish themselves at this time. Good luck the rest of the way. :)

Truelion, glad you came back. Well, the game turned out a bit differently than I think anyone was expecting, but your assessment was pretty good. We didn't have much success running up the middle, we made some ground on screen plays, and ultimately those short range passes were what moved the chains.

Sorry for the loss, but good luck on the rest of the season. . .unless we meet again in January. ;)

Looks like the biggest issue you guys have is O-line, maybe this year you guys dont draft anymore recievers? Really beyond my expectations for this game, hope you guys get healthy and we meet in the playoffs. Thanks for stopping in and good luck the rest of the way

Sorry for the loss? You're kidding me, right? :D

Seriously, there is no way I expected a blow out like that. Nor did I expect the Skins to hold such a potent offense to just 3 points.

This was a good game leading to next week's, very tough, game on the road. I just hope the Skins can keep playing at this level, especially on defense.

JC and the depleted offense looked pretty darn, good. I was really glad to see JC not throw even one pick this week!

The biggest issue the Lions have is Mike Martz. No offensive line can pass protect 5 and 7 step drops on every down. Rule of thumb: Count to 3 and get the ball out. With Detroit's receivers that should be easy but Martz has every receiver running routes that take too long to develop. Kitna won't survive the season with that type of playcalling. My 2 cents

Im basing that statement about detroit's Oline on the assumtion that Martz's offense is the same as when he was in St Louis. They had a very good O-line,at least in pass protection. I agree that part of the issue is Martz, in that he doesnt adjust for his teams weaknesses, but right now the glaring weakness appears to be the O line. Just goes to show you how good of a job our patchwork line is actually doing

Thanks for dropping back around truelions - it's always a great sign of perspective when a guy can come by and risk lumps after a loss.

Good luck the rest of the way.

You are a classy fan truelion. I feel that the BIGGEST difference in the game was due to game planning and execution. No, it is not rocket science. Those are the two fundamental issues every week. But what I am trying to say is that the Lions did not expect and plan to see the Redskins to play defense with only four in the box and an offense mixing and executing so well.

If only we could play like that every week ...
