In addition, I'm sure that hating on Brandon Lloyd will fix every issue the Redskins need to address. He's the sole reason the team went 5-11 last season.
Hang around here long enough, the people whose fan experiences are largely defined by a persistent negativity will stop surprising you
Ok, maybe he's not FAST enough to be where the ball was supposed to be. I'm just sayin'.........there are speed receivers and there are others with not so much speed. What's BL's time on the 40?

He could have avoided all of this if he had done his job and caught the ball.
Then again, he is "BLloyd", so we shouldn't expect him to actually catch the ball, right? Maybe he can get inspired to write a rap song about this r something. Just a thought.
Mark must have passed that little bit of insight on to you.
Did Gibbs tell him "all this could have been avoided if you could only throw the ball.
I'm not sure if JC overthrew him or not but I know if Mark had trown it #26 would have had a better shot at the ball than anyone in the endzone

Oddly enough, I'm not at all surprised. The Redskins are 1-0 and there are more positives than negatives to discuss. We could all be discussing the upcoming game against the Beagles but everyone would rather vent unwarranted frustration on one player out of 53. I don't see many posters knocking Santana Moss' performance this week. Either everyone gets a free pass or no one does. Fans can't have it both ways.

Are you serious? If you -WATCH- the play in the video, you will see that Jason threw the ball to a location where the -defender- had better POSITION. If the ball had been thrown a yard short or towards the right of Lloyd, we would be praising both of them today.
Everyone here would have thrown the ball prefect or made a adjustment and caught the ball therefore they have every right to bash the man.

The frustration with Lloyd doesn't just come from that one play. Rather, that one play exemplifies what we've gotten out of Lloyd since he's been here. That is, lackluster effort and not coming through when given the opportunity.
Moss, on the other hand, has a body of work from 2 seasons as a Redskin that gives him much leeway with the fans.
Not hating on Lloyd. I'd love for him to prove everyone wrong. But, really, he needs to start proving his worth.

I have heard & read several Redskins reporters say that...on that particular play he didn't even run his route correctly. He stopped because he didn't think the ball would be thrown to him, and thus when he realized it was he couldn't make up ground. But that right there tells me enough about where his focus is...

Did you see the play? He and the ball got to the same place at the same time, if he'd run the route wrong how did he have a play on the ball?

Lloyd quit on the play. He didn't pursue and he didn't get close to making a tackle. I have it on Tivo and he flat out stops running at the goal line and pouts. He would be cut from a high school team if he pulled that lack of effort. You can see it more clearly from the endzone camera. Not the angle you picked.
It doesn't matter what I think. But it's obvious the people to whom it does matter have issues with someone on their reciever core. Why else sign Caldwell? They already have five healthy recievers on the roster Moss, Randle El, Lloyd, Thrash, Bodiford. Four of whom were active Sunday Moss, Randle El, Lloyd, Thrash. Two of whom made plays Moss and El. One of whom is a core Redskin and special teams ace, Trash. Which leaves two dudes Lloyd and Bodiford. And Bodiford is a practice body. He may be cut before Lloyd. But I'd say that's 50-50.
Lloyd is as big a bust as AA. That's a fact backed by his numbers. Not my opinion. Maybe a bigger bust because at least the Skins got a pick in return for AA.

The goal Line is that area between the one yard line and the endzone.
You might want to have that TiVo checked

I must be losing depth perception. It looks like his right foot in on the 6 Yard Line. 30 feet from the Goal Line. And he appears to be facing the Miami end zone. Unless he ran the entire route backwards I don't see how anyone could say he didn't make any attempt ...
Ha! I love it. I'll check my glasses. Maybe move my chair closer to the tube. Stop starring at my girlfriend's low cut Redskin shirt when the game is on.
So it was the six yard line not the goal line that he jogged to before quitting. Fact is he still quit on the play.
Lloyd has done zilch since coming onboard. And Caldwell takes his spot on the active roster by week three.

This guy...
Yeah I seen the play. But just like everyone here I didn't see the route he ran, or if he stopped running.
You can slice it or dice it or mask it however you want. The fact of the matter is he doesn't PRODUCE...

Am I serious? It's not even how I feel. I'm was just saying what I've heard others say on the radio. I don't know what happened and I'm pretty torn on the subject.
I basically feel that he needs to be looked at more often. He hardly gets any passes thrown his way.
Little qoute for you Lloyd lovers from a post article written this past Monday. He's making the Skins worse. Not better.
"Lloyd . . . did not have a reception. It is the fourth time in 16 games with Washington that Lloyd has failed to catch a pass, and he has been held to two receptions or less in 14 of those contests."
Production really is dependant on more factors then his ability. If the ball is barely thrown to him, if when the ball is thrown to him it is thrown way over his head, or if he isn't on the field to make a play then that certainly contributes. He had several key blocks last year that produced touchdowns. That would be PRODUCTION.
Another factor some of you seem to be missing is the fact that last year we lost one of our starting running backs to an injury received from stopping someone who had intercepted a pass. Could it be that our offensive coaching staff has told them not to sacrifice themselves, if at all possible during plays such as these. And we were already short a WR. No one ever considers anything if it would make the drama go away for once. Our team is our team and all this controversy does is make players uncomfortable and tear apart our locker room. If you're a fan of this team I just don't see how your point of view could be so vocally against someone who wears the burgundy and gold. We are developing a reputation as a team that always has some sort of controversy brewing, I for one don't want to be a party to contributing to that.

My favortie line from the Simpsons:
Flanders: "Looks like someone is having a pre-rapture party!"
Homer: "No Flanders, it's a meeting of gay witches for abortion , you wouldn't be interested!"
His big selling point was his athletisism and ability to make plays on the ball in the air... he had an opportunity to help out JC here and he wasn't able to do it... doesn't make him a bad guy, he just wasn't able to get it done...
Randel El was able to make a great play on the ball on a poorly thrown pass and keep it from getting to the defender... he got it done...
results are the bootom line in the NFL...
lack of results are beginning to look like a trend with Lloyd... if it continues, whether the balls are well thrown or not, he'll be replaced...

Almost everyone knows the Washington Post reports nothing but negative, distorted articles about the Washington Redskins. I believe there is another thread on this issue so I won't beat a dead horse here. Sufficed to say, if the Washington Post is the best or only source of information that can be provided I would not give the source creedence beyond a reasonable doubt. Lloyd dropped 4 passes in 16 games. How many passes did Randy Moss drop? How many passes did Terrell Owens drop? And they are #1 receivers with innumerably more opportunities than Brandon Lloyd has had. Moss had more passes thrown to him this past weekend than Lloyd has had thrown to him in two seasons. You have a new QB, a revamped offensive line, and a huge playbook which, for the most part, could not be used previously because the former starting QB could not make the throws required.
OK, so Lloyd's not making any Pro Bowls after week 1. Why does everyone seem to forget the TEAM had an awful season. Moss and Betts production last season didn't keep the team from going 5-11. Individual production is over-rated. Team production is what counts.
Cutting Lloyd isn't going to get Carlos Rogers and Fred Smoot to play Bump & Run coverage as opposed to the Run & Run Some More coverage they played this week but no one started a "Let's cut the secondary" thread.
I can't tell from the camera angle, but if the DB and Lloyd were arm slapping or even rubbing together it could keep him from getting high as normal. I'll admit even though I often defend him, I was even a little skeptical about his effort on this play watching on tv. I'm glad someone went frame to frame to show he did put forth effort. He was probably more surprised than anything that the ball was coming to him.

Now I see the problem your relying on a guy who's better known for his Blogs than what he puts in print. That's JLC quote not a whole to stand behind plus it's nothing new just updated numbers. I've known many to question his ability to write, none about his ability to add.
