Jesse Lumsden

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Jesse Lumsden

Post by murray »

Former Redskins prospect Jesse Lumsden is having a great year in the CFL (even though his team, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, aren't). He has won the CFL offensive player of the week twice, and has averaged a massive 9.4 yards per carry. Can't help but think he would have looked good in burgundy and gold.

I'm happy for Jesse. It couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

... it certainly couldn't. Jesse is a class act.

I fired off an e-mail to him to let him know that there were still some THNers following his progress and wishing him well.

... and yay... Murray posted something about football. :celebrate:

I have to move it to the Lounge because it's in the wrong forum, but yay anyway.

I did think about which forum I should post in before I posted. I figured that given his past with the Skins I picked the right one  Sorry!

Not a big deal at all, and thanks for posting!

We draw a distinction and put anything about someone NOT on the team into Around The League, because people tend to ALWAYS make something about the Redskins even when it is not... player x got cut, should the Redskins sign him etc etc.

In this instance it could have stayed in Hog Wash in all likelihood, but why pass up the chance to moderate you?

Seriously, we have moderators so that we CAN move things if need be, so don't sweat it at all.

Hope you're well.

At least I didn't get an invite to "Smack" so you talk some trash about me :D

All is well here. I enjoyed your camp reports. Say hi to Taz.

Thanks. Taz says Hi back. :-)

Nice article today on how well Jesse is doing...

Eskimos aim to slow Lumsden

EDMONTON - Rahim Abdullah's first impression of Jesse Lumsden, also known in Steeltown as the Hamilton Hottie, was lukewarm at best.

A decent running back? Yes. A superstar? Not a chance.

But Abdullah, the resident chatter box of the Edmonton Eskimos dressing room, admits his talent thermometer was off - way off - when it came to measuring the ability of the only starting Canadian tailback in the CFL.

"He looks like the future of the CFL as far as running backs go," said Abdullah, an Edmonton rush end who played last season in Calgary. "I don't think he's nearly reached the potential of what he can be and that's saying a lot, considering he had 211 yards rushing last game."

Following up...

Jesse only managed 38 yards rushing on 8 carries in the game against Edmonton last night, but he did manage to grab another 62 yards in receiving for an even 100 yards (in a losing cause yet again).

I REALLY liked that guy... We have an insane ability to let the good ones get away! Good luck Jesse!

Mark
Is Jesse's contract with Hamilton up at the end of this season? Will we see him next summer trying out for another NFL team? I certainly wouldn't hang around Hamilton too long if they started calling me the "Hamilton Hottie" :puke:
