I think some of the whiners should go to a Broncos page and cry to them. They will let you cry on their shoulders, It makes them feel good.

Maybe we should rename the thread to "The Crying for Bailey Group"
"Any time you want to talk to some people who feel this way and need a shoulder to cry on come here"

sorry, but i thought u were asking who everyone would rather have...we gave opinions...

maybe next time you enter a poll...it should read "state who you would rather have without a comment so that nobody should read why you feel this way"...

No.

Johnny Unitas (grrr) was rated number one...at QB. Dick Stanfil (hail to the redskins) was rated number 1...at guard. Different positions.

And what do the ratings matter, anyway????

What really matters is who produces. Isn't that what the ratings implicate ? Of course ,my personal favorites are those who wear Burgandy and Gold and the rest is secondary!

I was glad when we made the trade and am still glad we have Portis. I think that anyone who thinks that having a great CB is better than having a great RB is just mis-guided, but that's just my opinion and I know that there are a lot of people that think very differently about what constitutes a good football team.

In Denver's system certain players at certain positions are more important - in Gibbs system that formula changes and currently we have Gibbs and they have Shanahan - in my humble opinion we should have the players that Gibbs thinks he needs and Denver does not matter to me.

BTW - anyone who thinks that we would be better off without Portis is just wrong
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Don't get your panties in a bunch! Notice the  I was being some what sarcastic. And I didn't ask the question.

I was also just telling my opinion, which my opinion is that im tired of beating this subject to death. Even the question "who would you prefer" sound like crying over Bailey. Why even ask if you wasn't? You would be happy with Portis.

I'm just saying, one in ten posts on here someone brings it up. At least seems like it.

I think its kinda in the past now. Champ didnt want to be hereand even got Smoot to leave, if you remember. So, Champ wouldnt have been very good in the locker room, i dont think. Also, We need to support Portis, he is our RB. Thats my opinion.......

I would have argued all day for Portis, but after his dog fighting comments, I would take Rashad Bauman over him.

Bailey all the day.

You need to rephrase this question. It should say, who would you rather have, Portis, or Bailey and and the second round draft pick we lost? Hands down, I'd take Bailey plus the No. 2.

All things even, I'd still take Bailey over Portis. You're talking about maybe the best CB in the entire league versus maybe a top 12 RB whose star is fading. Oh yeah, and Portis is from Miami where they didn't impart a whole lot of common sense past football skills. He also wasn't the best fit for our system.

You build great teams on defense first. We all know this but the offense is still more attractive because they get most of the glory.

First off, I was crying about this deal from Day One. But, it's not about crying over Bailey's departure or lamenting about it. We can't reverse that. It's about learning from past mistakes.

I think you have to pay great players to stay on your team, especially those who aren't easily replaceable and are gifted athletes. Champ was great and deserved a blockbuster deal and the front office low-balled him. For example, what will we do with Sean Taylor if he wants to be paid what he's worth? Stiff him? Then I suppose you'll say the same BS about him too when he leaves for greener pastures and we regress again. This is a business, not a recreational activity for these guys. They want to be compensated based on fair market value.

Also, making foolish trades that you sweeten the deal by giving up a No. 2 (people seem to forget that part) is just ridiculous and I'd even go so far as to say desperate. Portis and Bailey should have been an even-up trade. That was my biggest problem with it. I'm sure there would have been many suitors past Denver who would have been a better trade partner, or we could have waited for Denver to lessen their demand for a No. 2 for a No. 4 or less.

I will allow that nearly $4 million isn't chump change but to say the Redskins "low-balled" Bailey is not accurate. And, it wasn't even the total value of the offer that Bailey didn't like, he took issue with some clauses and other stuff, which is a nice way of saying "No, trade me." So even Bailey would, presumably, disagree with that designation.
