Ummmm... that would be the one we are currently in, your grace.

Planes don't migrate

I was not aware of that... errr... your grace.
I KNOW FACTS! BRING ME SOME TURKEY LEGS AND WINE GOBLETS AND MINSTRELS!

Jet planes create forward movement via the thrust of jet engines. That thrust will create the exact same acceleration regardless of whether the surface under the wheels is moving or not.
Just picture yourself on a treadmill. Strap a jet engine to your but. I don't care how fast that treadmill is turning backwards...you will move forward, I promise.
Thanks for the laugh though.

The question is, how will the plane generate lift? The engines suck the plane forward through the air which flows over the wings for lift.
In this situation the engines are sucking but the plane isn't moving forward so there doesn't seem to be a way for the air to move over the wings to generate lift.

CLL,
The whole point is, there is no early way any treadmill could prevent a jet from moving forward. The thing can spin at light speed if it wants, the plane will still move forward (or the wheel beering will lock up and the tires will shread nad the plane will be thrown backwards - at light speed no less).
The thing will fly! Anyone that knows anything about aircraft will come to the same conclusion; the treadmill can't keep the plane stationary!
At the speed of light the treadmill itself will become light and time will stop. See Einstein.
