Another Denver Bronco Player Dies

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

INDIANAPOLIS -- For the second time in less than eight weeks, the Broncos have lost one of their own.

Running back Damien Nash, who joined the team in training camp last year and played in three games, passed away on Saturday.

Nash was 24 years old.

"The Denver Broncos organization is once again struck with profound sadness over the tragic loss of one of our players," President/CEO Pat Bowlen said. "This is a tremendous tragedy and our hearts go out to the entire Nash family."

"The Broncos family has suffered a great loss with the passing of Damien Nash," Head Coach Mike Shanahan said. "I am stunned and deeply saddened by this tragedy, and send my deepest condolences to Damien’s family."

Nash, a product of the University of Missouri, joined the Broncos off waivers from the Tennessee Titans during training camp and used a big game against his former team to help cement a place on the practice squad when the regular season began in September.

Two months later, he was promoted to the 53-man roster and played against the Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs.
