How 'bout some positive notes from Monday nights game.
ARE's return made #6 on ESPN's 10 best plays of week 1. This was the play where Sean Taylor and Carlos Rogers made those big hits (blocks). They have replayed that return several times and I can't see that play enough. Man, those were big hits.
I really think that ARE will add a huge spark to our special teams. He had a great game all around, at receiver as well. I can't wait to see more big returns and plays from him. I think he will pay big dividends for us this year.
I also thought the play that Portis scored on was a great play as well. Not that he scored, but the play call and design of that play. I haven't seen that play before.

Any specific plays that you liked???
I just like that they're clearly looking to get more touches to ARE, especially as a WR. I think he was underutilized in Pittsburgh (part of the reason he left, according to the last interview I read), where he averaged less than 3 recs/game. He's a unique and gifted athlete, and will be a major part of our elevation to an elite offense.
* Moss, 37 yard catch. A little bit of a teaser, but I'm hoping to see plenty more downfield this year.
* I liked the game that Marcus Washington had. He keeps getting better. . .
* I loved Sean Taylor's hit on the receiver that drew that first (and completely bogus) penalty flag. That play reminded me quite a bit of the Giants (at home) last year, when Ryan Clark put one of the best hits of the year on a receiver and, surprise, drew another bogus flag.

That's because the NFL is such a fricken wussy league. All they care about is making money, protecting the offense, and scoring as many points as possible.
"Takling the WR to hard. Defense, #21. 20 yard penalty, automatic lame call."
I am seriously starting to hate the NFL.
